To be fair - I have never played the fruit machines to win (sad I know), I used to love the way they play - and now I play them as I have an addiction to play them... Not lose but to play them.. and I never waste more than I can afford... (Sorry - I mean rarely).

But Gary, it's the sad gits like you who think they know how to play machines who stand in arcades waiting for somebody to lose so that they can jump in a grave that makes the position of casual players or addicts worse.. Think you can beat any system and it's going to come bite you on the arse one day.. If you have played the arse and elbow quiz I am assuming you weren't one of the elbows.

right firstly i dont stand in an arcade and waitin for people to loose...i will go in play machines i no i cant loose and leave...then go round the pubs....i dont see how people can moan they got a gambling addiction wen they are the only people hu can sort it out...i lost £200 in elvis yesterday....bothered...wot i was up in the day neway.

im sure theres even people on this website that make money from playin fruit machines.

Would you say that to an alcoholic or a drug addict? Basically "It's your own fault so stop moaning?". There are a few so called professional gamblers but they are few and far between. People like to make themselves out to be experts when in fact they're not. There is only one winner and it ain't the player. Trust me. If you play the machines regularly you may have been 'up' that day but in the long term you would be down. Especially if you put a lot in section 16's.

im not a professional.....i no enough to make me money of them tho.....i dont normally play S-16s jus got a bit bored and won like £50 out of one of the other elvis's. theres more pro's than u fink goin round mate luckily not round my area but i no a fair few that travel near me.

I know several people who classed themselves as pros.. Even they don't come out some firday nights because they have had a losing week.. That's even with all of their fruit "skills", all knowing fruit machines does is help you reduce the odds.. But not as much as not playing them.. When you have been brought up on them for the last 35 years seeing different styles come and go you will realise that nobody wins except the manufacturers (especially those barcrest tss) and the operators... People who say they know how to play the machines are often like the alcoholic who knows he can handle just a few glasses of beer..........

Well there's none near me. Well unless you count the ones that use cheats until they get leaked to everyone else. Or forcers. hmmm now there's real skill. A lot of them have favourite machines they go back to, mostly cos it's already cost them a fair bit to find out everything there is no know about them.

Are any of the 'pro' players multi millionaires? Maybe a few i don't know. But i'll tell you a few millionaires company wise. Barcrest, JPM etc. If there was a way of winning everytime then they would go bankrupt. I used to convince myself i could beat the system. Before i saw sense.

wots wrong with all the barcrests....the new ones mammoth darts etc are great for a quick pot steal and even a few of the old ones u can make a bit of money out.....top gear, top dog and clones etc

Nowt wrong with them just using the company name as an example. If people could win everytime they'd know about it. You can be up in the short term but not in the long term usually is all i was saying. In my experience Top Dog and clones are crap. £3 then lose. A lot of it comes with catching the machine at the right time. That's not skill just luck.

all u need to do on top dogs is get past the £5 block which aint too hard if ur playing it right......and i still got a few extremes round my area and dont start tellin me u av to catch them at the rite time....even wen they DEAD u will still get ur money bk...if u no how to play em ofcourse

Oh so you win on them everytime do you? Oh right. Oh well sorry didn't realise i was dealing with an expert. Wish i could play machines for a living instead of going to work. Erm NOT!

I've been there myself. Convincing myself i was cleverer that the machines. But eventually you see the light. It takes some people longer than others. If you convince yourself your winning all the time it can help hide your addiction. If your like me and others on here though, you'll look back and think of what you could have done with all the money you've lost over the months/years. You realise what a tool you've been thinking you can beat the system. Eventually.

wtf lol i dont loose money lol i start off the day with a tener go to butlins....play a few £5s that i know am gonna make a few quid on italian jobs, 25's(thats a name of a machine)jumpin jack cash, gettin ziggy with it, after i av made a bit of them i will play the extreme in butlins...will make £10-£20 of that normally sumtimes more.....then sometimes i will go town....usto go play a unchipped round the bend but thats gone now will play the cash lab and yes surprisingly NO1 round here knows how to play it lmao......rovers return will normally make a few quid out of that and then i will go bk to butlins to make a few more quid....wen the black italian job and dambuster aint gone for a while they are always worth a few jackpots.....so if some how i dont manage to get up of them machines or sack it in a S-16 then i av only lost a tener.

even knowing the "techniques" on these machines guarantees you nothing.. Then you mention sacking it on the S16s... Erm and don't you have to pay to get in to Butlins, so there's a loss straight up???

Yeah but it's hardly mega bucks is it? Playing the low jp machines is fair enough but as long as you start aiming higher in the long term you lose. Simple as. You are NOT guaranteed to win anytime you play any machine. Forcing piddling JP's is easy as. It's when you start playing the bigger JP ones that the losses rack up. Putting it all in a section 16 defeats the object. I very much doubt it only costs you a tenner every time you play the machines. A lot of people work out the average they spend and say that's what they always use.

ps not having a go. I used to think in exactly the same way so i know where your coming from.

£10 a day ----- WOW pocket change.

I used to spend in excess of £2000 a week -- I could even do this amount in 1 day....

I had a very nice win a year or 2 back (lets just says it was over 100k) and looking back at what I wasted on fruit machines I could have bought myself a nice house.

Yea, I might have had a good few wins like £5000 in a week when I went down Yarmouth last month (those that saw the thread with the pictures would have seen the proof) and a few good wins down the casino, but you don't win everytime...... I just wish the other year I bought myself my house I wanted and not threw it away

Like i was saying earlier on in the thread you can be up on the day, but if you regularly play machines you won't be up in the long term. You do think about all the things you could've bought with the money. It's when you start thinking like that you start to cut down a bit. Like i'm doing at the mo. I doubt i'll ever stop altogether mind you but i can't keep on like i have been doing.

Your on the slippery slope if you go on thinking you can realistically beat the machines. Guaranteed, everytime. But i think everyone goes through that phase at some point.

I did play them excessively, and I still would, but i realise this fact. I still go down the pub and spend everything I have in my wallet. But I take down £10 and my partner has the rest of the money for drinks.

If I lose - I sit down and talk. If I win, I but the next few rounds of drinks.
But I KNOW that this is the only safe way, I don't think you can ever play a fruit machine in a safe way if you abused them in the past (Or more likely BEEN abused by them)

I play once a week now this way, and its the best way I think.

I now have a great job, a fantastic family and I would not want to jeopardise anything by an addiction that could get out of hand.

Sound advice there mate. Nice one. Well as i put earlier, it's not just me i'll be letting down if i don't sort myself out. It's my fiancee too. But well done for cutting right down like that. Wish i could. But i'm getting the stage now when i'm gonna have to. Otherwise i really will be in the brown creek without me paddle! I think if it's not just you it could affect, it does give you something to focus on. I was a lot worse when i was single. I didn't care when i knew it was only me that would suffer if i lost. Now it's a whole different ball game.
