possibly not but he definately has the style of the doctor down to a T. Personally I think he could be one of the best but is limited by the direction of the program instead....

He plays the doctor very much like Baker did, the schizophrenic style who can be mad one minute and smiling the next.....

I think as always the series are very far fetched.

To say the tardis is supposed to be a TIME MACHINE they could make the programme more of a learning & educational programme by going back in time to certain points and teaching the younger generations about times in history (rather than cybermen, dalerks and pig faced people running around)

Now landing on the deck of the Titanic in 1912 just before it sank could be a good idea for an episode.

I preferred it in the 70's with the classic Dr Who Tom Baker (now narrates a lot of programmes - Little Britain being one of them).

Can't beat the 70's special effects with one monster being made from tin foil and lolly pop sticks and the classic blob shaped monster made (wait for it) for just a black bag and some confetti - Classic.

Watch them on UK Gold for some laughs and seriously bad TV acting - So bad it's good.

Far fetched? its sci fi fantasy, i suppose Star trek is a bit "far fetched" then aint it!

As for "more of an educational & learning" programme, thats what the education videos are for. This is escapism, entertainment, its not meant to teach, its meant to entertain!

You not think is a bit of a completely stupid thing to say? The doctor always saves the day so you think it wud be educational to have the titanic not sink?

back when i watched it was educational when they did the romans the aztecs and the reign of terror.

But to me nowadays they ve just modernised it with too many special effects.I prefered it when it was in the bbc studios.

Thats progress for ya. They had to keep in tune with todays audience so obviously this was the route they wud take. There aint much sci fi around nowadays without loads of special effects and computer generated stuff.

Something i could never really get into. I watch it now and then. But it's good how they've managed to get a whole new generation interested. They had to keep up with the times, but i know some people will remember fondly back to the good old days. UK Gold used to show the old ones but they don't anymore.

su-bloody-perb that last episode. Did wonder how they would write another time lord back in to it. Very clever how they have. Be interesting to see if they try and explain how The Master came to be in that state though as he was last seen falling into the Eye of Harmony when Paul McGann last defeated him and with no more regenrations left......

Still it was a cracking ep, last weeks was good too, one of the most chilling i've seen in a while.

The final episdoes are set up rather nicely :)

lets talk about progress then shall we. now lets assume nothing progressed. everything would still be in the olden day type thing, cars, trains, etc things get better and more advanced. one armed bandits progressed into the modern day fruit machine people and things need to keep with the times. (although i didnt like the look of the inside of the tardis when i first saw it.)
lets make it plain if nothin progressed we'd still be cave men
why did i put all that gibberish?????????????? i don't know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now wasn't that weird -- I was only saying wouldn't it make a good story for the tardis to land on Titanic, but it looks like the Titanic has just landed on the tardis....
