There is a Random Spinner at my local Mecca
The 1st week it was in I managed to get a JP followed by another one about 3 months later. I know another woman that also took a JP out about a month later.
Shortly after these 3 jackpots were paid the machine had a firmware revision.
It has been sited for 3 years now and only these 3 jackpots have ever been paid - this has been confirmed by Mecca staff.

Exactly why I don't like Section 16 Machines. The random factor just seems like total rubbish to me. Even Nails confirmed this earlier today after Ady said it would take £5k to get a Jackpot - Nails has played £7k worth still no Jackpot.
I don't think anyone can work theories on these machines - totally unpredictable. Either give loads of Jackpots like Dazza above - or take your money very very fast indeed.
I don't think 3 Jackpots in 3 years is random - do you?

hands up who has pumped a good £500 into a section 16 machine?
*IF* you had merely spun the reels 250 times @ £2 a spin, how much do you think you would have accumulated? the payout is higher than you may have anticipated. though i dont have exact figures infront of me, i can tell you the payout is indeed quite high, however the reinvestment on a £2 machine is far greater than a £25 jp 25p play. you average £20 is inserted and you play play play untill it has gone, you probably had £10-£15 worth of regurgetated wins in that £20 (probably on average).
in one particular day i put over £400 in the note acceptor and put the machine in auto play. an 3 hours later, with £160 still in the bank, i checked the machine and the payout had gone up from 91.11 to 91.78 percent. so you see dispite losing some £250, the machine had thrown out wins via the wheel/suit you and dice and then creamed it off.
bloody genius who though this all out, and now the % is to go down to 90-92% from the original 94.

But that is the idea of random ---- Imagine 500,000 balls in a bag and everytime you press start you are allowed to pick 1 ball out of the bag, if that number is 1 then you win the jackpot.
Now before you press start again you must replace the ball into the bag, give them a good shake up and pick another ball.
Another one on a smaller scale - I take it you have seen DEAL OR NO DEAL, 22 sealed boxes that are randomly filled with the cash amounts by doing the same pick a ball out of a bag idea - then the contestants pick a ball out to chose their box for the game..... How many times do you see £250,000 on the table ?? --- and that's just using 22 boxes !!

I understand that. What I am talking about is Jackpots - Not crap £2 to £25 wins that go straight back in the credits.
The idea for the money to go back into the credits in a money maker - makes you feel like you've won nothing. Would be better for the player to see what they have won (separate bank) after they have put a couple of hundred in the machine.
Section 16's - I curse you all.

Emptiers for Random machines don't exist.......
But I agree - wins should not be placed into playing credits, they should have made them so they went into a WIN BANK and the player then has the option to transfer the win to plays if they wanted.

They have done in the past, and will no doubt continue to do so. After all, they have the same components as a standard fixed percentage machine (albeit a PC based one) just with a Random Number Generator fitted. Generator or not, if you find a 'bug' (left in intentionally or not) which can be can be exploited to make the machine play above it's percentage target, then it's an emptier.

Dazza - Glad we agree on something at least. Apologize for calling you a kid a few posts ago - threw my rattle out of the pram.

Hi
Random Spinner did not have an emptyer but it did have a big bug in there that allowed you to have a £2.00 spin for 10p so you could play more for less which would in therory if you could play it long enough you would beable to empty it.

You only stayed on that stake while the machine was playing in negative figures (so as soon as you got over £0 it went back to full stake. Basically the way to win it was to get a jackpot pretty quickly) although we have discussed how near impossible that is.
What you did was insert £2, choose £2 stake remove it and put less in 10ps staying on £2 stake and it allowed you to collect (if I remember right) and it keeps spinning and going more and more negative until you go in to credit. Good if you managed to get to a positive figure quickly - Most I got was £150 in credit (for 10ps). They were all chipped pretty quickly though as you can imagine..
Is this one chipped Nails, have you tried?

its chipped, but i dont remember playing the trick like that, you have to put in £2 and 10p every time for a free £2 spin.
the first rechips for random spinner placed an odd few pence in the bank, but newer rechips like this one here say 0.00 in the bank.
i lined up the reels the other day for joker joker red-joker joker joker. how much you recon it payed ??? i`ll video it and upload it.

Sounds great. Any chance Cliff you could email it or PM it to me.
These machines are totally disgusting so any advantage users can have over the owners is fair in my opinion.

I'd buy one but the missus would never let me hear the end of it. Plus i wouldn't fancy having to move the bloody thing when i go over there. I've got two Club machines to move already! Wouldn't get much for a trade in but i guess i could get a crap part ex somewhere.
I heard all sorts of rumours about section 16's. About pubs being allowed to have them and that. That idea didn't get very far. Probably cos of the license costs.
I've dropped two before. A Megaslots and an Elvis, without cashpots on it. Only cost me about £50 each time. But i've put in loads since then. Bet some arcades won't be sorry to see the back of them. They're a ball ache to refill! Especially if they've paid out 2 close JP's. The most i've seen one pay out without an IOU was £650 on an Elvis. He'd be on it a while mind. If i was gonna get one it'd definately be an Elvis. Has anyone played the new £25 version? Handy if you love the machine and don't want to blow a fortune!

This came into our workshop this morning, with a view to us doing re-build software. After reassembling the pile of bits inside and testing the machine, I stuck 20 quid in it, put it on auto play and buggered off to do something else.
After an hour I went back to see if it had eaten my dinner money, to be confronted by this...yay!
Incidentally I will be getting one of these for home soon on the mega cheap. Big fat moneybox
