OMG. I remember those stamp giving machines too. :)

Hmmmm..... one of the first fruities I saw (and played) was
a machine in a chippy that was 2p/play, 5 for 10p.
One cherry was 2p payout, some of the other symbols were
crowns, crossed swords, castles (rook style - chess) and
a symbol that i think said "strike", with red background.
[Of course we're talking 1979 now ;)

i remember this too! Not sure if I'm confusing that machine with another when I mention the following. It was in a wood effect cabinate and was a penny a go with a super 50 prize jackpot that actually paid with a 50pence piece. I'm sure this was the same machine. I think it was called 'Big 50' or 'Hit 50' I think there was 2 columns full of 50p coins.

Here is another picture of a old machine I used to play now and then.

Soon as I seen this, I could smell Fish and Chips because that's where they had the machine. :D

I remember taking that pic of 'Step-A-Round' It was taken at an arcade in Cleethorpes if my memory serves me right. I got several old JPM's that day.

Check out these pics from memory lane. These are old glass displays from machines that have been made into a mosaic on the wall of an arcade not so far from here. Pandy released 'ACE CHASE' with artwork I captured from one of the walls in this very arcade.

eddiec -I think that's the one. Ah Memories! :D

Ploggy - Fish & Chips to me was Hyper Viper.
Used to visit chippy to play during college lunch break or on way home as was by Bus Stop for bus home. Never did get the bus drivers to take those darn tokens!

Steinman, that's funny/scary. When i was at college, "lunch money"
would often go into the hyper viper at the chinese restaurant round
the corner and if i got lucky it would get me some food.
<cringe> The things we do when addicted to these damn machines.

Yup, miss um too!
When I discovered Fruit Machine Emulation, basically through chance on the net, I couldn't believe I had stumbled across such goodies from my younger days. And when I first played Hyper Viper & Line Up again.....
Cor, nearly as good as ***! LOL!

Sidewinder and Pac Man are in the Downloads section

No, the Sidewinder in Downloads section is the mid-90's JPM version, not the mid-80's screen version - I'd love that one though!!! :D

BTW, what's that website for pictures of old JPM machines? Not mpuMecca, another one...

re: cash'ncarry
I remember the style of the machine, but not that particular game,do you have anymore barcrest pics of this style? I'm pretty sure that these cabinets use mpu2 processor.

Yeah mate.......I called em and tried to register but they wanted to know my shoe size too!!!.....This was after a friend in the business said he couldn't help either, it was just too risky for him to let me even use his details or for him to supply me a pass----You would think that they would give at least one public day--I mean we are the one's who play them--surely a good idea would be for them to see our reactions to new releases???

Exactly, it kind of makes you wonder what these tossers have got to hide from us - like a gadget for attendants to remotely make a buzzing machine suddenly go dead for anyone they don't like - wouldn't surprise me (or am I being paranoid?...)
