Erm... That depends on what soudcard you have..
Get the latest update for your soundcard
Realtek drivers have particular issues with MFME, but the latest realtek update seems to fix the issues.
If you tell us what soundcard you have, someone will be able to direct you to where to get the drivers from.

Right click My Computer > properties > Hardware > Device manager > sound video game controllers. That should tell you what you have in there.
