there is a trick for full screen mode to go to full screen you must first have credits in the machine then in this order write it down works .. with the emulator open press the slot with 1 click then hold the alt button and press enter while holding the alt then hold the alt button and press tab till you get the emulator icon release then use the space bar on the keyboard to spin to exit you must again press on the slot and hold alt on the keyboard and press enter it works very well if you want full screen

Are people still interested in making a simulator for these type of games? The only 'slot machine' type simulators I can find are so primitive that they are just a random number generator which simply dumps three symbols (images) onto the screen with naturally the same odds for every single item that appears! One thing is for sure, the single line random number java stuff is beyond a joke and needs to be made realistic without the price tag and limitations of those non-free PC games! Open Source all the way!
I can help with info on reel strips, payouts, features and everything, as I posted on here ages ago (2003) and again on page 14. Had I not lost internet access at the time, I could have responded to jamesb99_1999's post straight away.
As of now, I can make a list of the many S16 'pokie' games I have played down here, and getting graphics from the games in MAME is extremely easy since they're not encrypted. Although, they are pretty low-res at 304x216, 640x400 and 640x480 (although the latter is good enough by far for windowed mode and even full screen if your card still supports it).

If you can supply the graphics and sounds from camera/ recorder and a description of exactly how this machine works I'll do a simulation of it for you.

Hi all
If anyone could send me a PM with where i could obtain Aristocrat pokie games other than the 4 Indian dreaming 50 lions ect, thats floating around.
Looking for Queen/King of Nile, Where the Gold, or any other that i can play on pc. Recently become housebound and would enjoy these to pass time! If i could get hold of these would kindly make donation to forum ..

Try this:hi all,
i have downloaded the 4 pokies but am getting the error "could not set the desired video mode at line 1026"

nstructions
If you are running Windows XP then you shouldn’t have a problem. If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 then you will need to:
* Right click on the shortcut file or the game name (eg. 50 Lions)
* From the dropdown menu, click on Troubleshoot Compatibility
* Click on Troubleshoot (Bottom option)
* Select the option Worked in earlier version
* Select Windows XP
* When asked to run the program, run it and ignore the message (click OK)
* Close the wizard
* Right click on the shortcut file again
* From the dropdown menu, click Run as administrator
(NOTE: If you just click into properties to change the compat' mode, you will get an error for one of the filepaths, thats why I did it the longer way.)

Has anyone tried modifying these Mk6 emulations? If we were able to modify the files it wouldn't be too difficult to add more Mk 6 games to the list.

It is not possible to modify the so-called emulations, aside from minor hacking of the original games, if it allowed it. The emulations are actually Win32 ports done by Aristocrat themselves in the mid 2000s, of which four games were leaked by an ex-employee, as far as the story goes.
Differences between the real thing and the "MK6 Emulator":
Original machine uses a Hitachi SH-4 CPU and PowerVR graphics, the "emulators" are x86 Win32 code and output graphics using OpenGL.
CRC checking has been removed.
No note acceptor, hopper or ticket/printer emulation, or even coinage for that matter (the 'Coins' button in the emulators is basically a credit switch rather than physical $1 coins, and does not contribute to physical coin input).
No system BIOS/set chips (the latter used mainly in US/Las Vegas casino machines).
No comms links, including the jackpot server (a separate computer system, also containing progressive jackpot and cashless credit transfer information; this is why the Indian Dreaming Hyperlink jackpot locks up requiring a hit of the jackpot/reset switch (and a hand pay of the minimum jackpot amount if this happened in the wild), the comms links is also used in many jurisdictions like Queensland, Victoria and South Australia or else the games will remain disabled from play).
So in short, no, you will not be able to hack Orchid Magic into running Queen of the Nile instead, or Mr. Cashman, Outback Jack or Super Bucks, even if you had the game EPROMs (which no-one does). You'd be better off starting a MAME driver from scratch using naomi.c as a base, and then watching how pathetically slow it would run just like the NAOMI games which use the same CPU/graphics combination. Since the basic hardware is emulated though, you might be lucky enough for it to actually boot up, unlike the relatively obscure MK5 games which remain a guessing game on how they actually work. Of course, you'd need to find some non-existent game dumps, as no-one has bothered with these machines before.
Besides, the emulators crash all the time, lag and eventually stuttuttuttutter when playing (unless you run with High priority, then they're almost perfect, aside from crashing after a while). Not to mention they have poor button input support, having the program simply detect keyboard keys rather than button presses (for example, if you hold Y, you get Y.YYYYYYYYYY rather than just one held button; Orchid Magic should not repeat button presses when the button is held, and is confirmed when you hold the '9 line' button down with Ctrl+click).

most definately! i've also had a look around and had no luck, this might be a one off game, or there could be a few thats been done and no one has even thought to take it further, who knows what the programs are named under, and with the iphone release of the same game there is 2 avenues to look at.
seeing this has made me think a whole can of worms can be opened...although 100% authentic is best, but it might be a chink of light for developers to have a look and see what can and cant be done
i've emailed the author of the vid to see if he can sort me out a copy of the program or at least give me some details about the program itself, and any info i get i will pass on to heihachi73 and palindrome so they can go further from there with people they know.
may be a shot in the dark, but you got to be in it to win it!

Surely we can do better than that very American-looking Geisha simulation. When does an Aristocrat game have S Plus style 'clock displays' under it?

like i said not 100% authentic...but maybe people can look into the background work of what was involved in getting the game running, barring a few details it looks like a genuine rip of the game
but hey, what do we know? your the f*****g expert, and you can shove your 'know it all' attitude up your f*****g arse

ok everyone, chill out! We just want to get a bit of a discussion going. Obviously we all want to be able to play our favourite Aristo games on the PC. Having seen this simulation of Geisha makes us wonder several things. Where did it come from? Why can't we find it online? Why does it give 11 free spins on the video instead of 15? If Geisha is out there maybe there are more games?
First prize would be to get the MAME MK5 machines working and last year it was looking good with Angelo submitting so many updates, but, as he says in the driver notes it boots up into errors which might be some kind of protection. So, I guess it could take years for someone to get the MAME versions working and therefore it would be nice to play the games even if they are not 100% correct for now.

In New Zealand it is legal to have pokie machines at home provided that they aren't set up to make money. An uncle of mine has a machine and a heap of game chips that he can swap over and play as he likes. The games are in the form of .bin files which are loaded onto chips and placed on the board.
Most games use four chips, a Mark 5 board, a comms board and the driver board as well as the motherboard. The Mark 6 games are pretty much the same except use a Mark 6 board and a Mark 6 system chip board instead of the Mark 5 board. Larger games for example Lucky 88 and Double Happiness use an XP board instead of the Mark 6 boards.
The latest "gen 7" machines with their big play buttons and two sets of LCD screens have SD cards and Sim cards to prevent game piracy. There is a presentation floating around on the web about the Gen 7's as well as the manuals for Mark 4/5/6 machines.
