Hi everyone :p

Seeing as how I'm giving up machines at the minute, I decided to go ahead with my plans for getting some more games consoles in - I've been meaning to do this for a while but losing jobs and family stuff got in the way. That and I spunked any disposable income into machines (making an honest loss - no emptiers and shit here, call me stupid but I've been too honest to look into such things).

Anyway, I've got a lovely telly upstairs now (well, I reckon it's lovely, it's a 28" non-HD Toshiba CRT flatscreen. Stunning picture for games, and cost sweet f*** all), and compared to the HD LCD I've got downstairs it is FAR superior with the PS2 I've been using.

I'm looking for some more consoles to connect up. Any of the following I'll be interested in, so if you have any of them kicking about and haven't gotten around to selling them, or are considering 'upgrading' to a next-generation console (Xbox360, PS3, or perhaps a Wii / PSP?) and need some cash, get in touch.

XBOX
I'm after an Xbox. Not an Xbox360, just a normal Xbox. However, I'm really looking for one that has been 'modded' - that is, has a modchip fitted, or has had some kind of stable softmod applied to it.

IDEALLY it'll want to have had it's HDD upgraded to a decent size. Obviously if one were available with say a chip AND a decent HDD, perhaps preloaded with content, I'd be willing to pay more.

SNES
I've owned several, but my last one was 'borrowed' by a family member for retro value, and never returned. Still got a couple of games and to be honest no emulation comes close to playing on the actual thing.

It doesn't need to be modified in any way, just a standard UK PAL spec would be ideal. I'd consider making an extra payment towards things like controllers or games depending on what was available.

ANYTHING ELSE
I'd be happy to consider anything else you may have, any old consoles you want rid of, let me know!

Thanks for reading :)
Ben

Ive got an xbox you can have for something like £15, I bought it faulty off ebay but had a laser fom another xbox that turned out to have a faulty hdd rather than laser.

It works but sometimes skips on FMV sequences, but as you want it modded im sure you full well know they can be used with large hdd and mod and you dont need to use the dvd drive and transfer anything you need via FTP

AFAIK its not a v1.6 which I think are unsoftmoddable, its something like a 1.3 or 1.4 can easily open it up to check.

Ive got the console, power lead, 3rd party controller and forza motorsport. EDIT: oh and its got the advanced av pack :)

As stated £15 if you want it, postage on xboxes comes to about £8 as ive sent a few before.

Went to GAME (gag) earlier today, picked up some PS2 games in their 4 for £10 deal. Must admit, first GAME purchase in ages. I'd always assumed their preowned titles were still £1 less than new retail SRP :p

Nearest Gamestation is in Boston, seem to recall last time I was there they had some cool consoles in, including stuff like Game and Watch, NES, SNES, N64 and assorted SEGA.

Still, I'd rather buy one from someone on here ideally :p

OK I reckon I've bought the Xbox that was offered above, however I would still be interested in another Xbox, especially one that is pre-modded.

Simple reason being that if I cock this one up soldering a chip in, or doing something else to it, I'd like to have one that should work 'out of the box'. The above one could then be used for spares, depending on how interchangable bits may be between different motherboard specs of Xbox :)

Ooh, thanks for that. Remember considering one ages ago when stuff like the Treamcast was being discussed.

Is it as simple as burning an image file onto a CDR and bunging it in the console? If so it's hard to ignore them - I've seen them go for stupidly low prices in the past!

Take that back the Saturn was better than the PSX only thing that the PSX had was better backing off Sony and the announcement that the Dreamcast was pending.

Sorry Alth we will have to agree to disagree i thought the saturn was pretty rubbish for its time as it was meant to kick the snes's and mega drives butts..which IMO didnt :)

Think what alths trying to say is it was potentially more advanced than the PS1.

As it had no decent support it did'nt have a chance to show its true colours.

Every console or computer needs a killer app Saturn technically kicked the Snes, megadrive and PSXs arse but they dropped the ball and only shipped it with shite as no stuff had been written on time.

Spectrum - Manic Miner
Atari XL/XE - Pitfall
BBC - Elite
Commodore 64 - take your bloody pick theres 100s
Snes - Mario in about 1500 guises
Megadrive - Sonic in about 1500 guises
Amiga/ST - Lemmings
PC - Doom/Wolfenstein
Saturn - nowt
PSX - Tomb Raider / Wipeout / Resident Evil
Dreamcast - Errrm does Soul Calibur count?
Xbox - Halo
Gameboy - Tetris
Gamegear - nowt
Lynx - nowt
CD32 - nowt
PC Engine - they dropped the ball on that one

See where I am coming from now?

I have to agree 100% on the Saturn. It was a fantastic system, the only problem was that all of the games were exactly the same (pretty much just all running along hitting things), and if they had released some brilliant game showing off it's capabilities it would have done very well.

Dreamcasts go on ebay for between £5-15 without games. I have a couple and they are fantastic - If you can get Blue Stinger which is superb I guarantee you will be playing for hours, it's like resident evil but better!!!

Snes is crap -- Get some of the handhelds like the Lynx/ Game gear - I have had several of these and hundreds of games and they kill a lot of time and go for peanuts on ebay.

I also recently added a CDI to my collection at a car boot sale, which I missed out when they were originally released, and am happilly re-playing dragons lair and 7th guest!! ;)

I also have an Amiga/ Atari ST and Amstrad CPC464 of course!! Which speak for themselves!!
