By heck, looks like they deffo got f***ed over..... been in that shop you show in that pic many times & there is I would say about 2 foot of water in that pic

As for the carpet shop me mate runs, if you know where Morrisons @ Hillsbough Barracks is, then he's just in the shopping arcade there (Tufts LTD)..... makes me wonder how his other shops have coped, especaly the one in Worksop.

These are the views I could see around the area of Meadowhall...

Look at the traffic lights in the 1st picture, that will give you an idea how flooded the road was -- the river is usually the left side of the road lights and has a 12 foot wall from the road to the river.

And as for the 2nd picture - look it's a car (somewhere)

.

In the 3rd picture is that smoke in the background or clouds? It looks a lot like smoke.

Yes, it's smoke

There are some factories just around that corner - they must have had an electrical fire due to the floods

I have just drove past Meadowhall today - and the roads around it are wrecked... Will pop over one day and get some photos of how low the river should be... and most of the damage.

If the shop was on main street in worksop it will have been flooded.

Has any one had any crazy downpours. Last night in Gloucester it started raining at 12AM and is still raining now. Thing is its not light rain its bloody poring it down. I had to take two detours on the way home as the road was flooded. They even had to take the flood gates down NR the garage i work at so the water could run into the Severn. I took some pictures of the worst bits.

who was to think that just 4 weeks later we would have the worst flooding to ever hit the uk ever. this is the local bbc website with some pics of the flooding.

Its been raining in Gloucester for 10 hours now and we already have local flooding AGAIN. If it continues then we might have another bloody disaster on our hands, least this time they will be more aware of the situation.

Todd is spot on as usual. Better get more sandbags. It's gonna be terrible until at least Sunday. I do fear for these people. Bet the Government sits on it's arse until it's too late.

Never saw this myself (I spent most of the day in bed adjusting my body clock) but this looked pretty cool from the pic.

We have more tornado's per sq mile than the USA. Its just that the ones over here tend to be far less powerfull, and therefore less noticed. If global warming does exist, then they will be getting stronger over the coming years I would assume. But it is a proven fact that we have more tornado's than the US.
