I have a suggestion -
if you want to donate 50p towards the upkeep of FRUIT-EMU, couldn't some of that donation go towards DAD's FME too - I mean there are good EMUs on his site too?
I think £3.00 is fair, considering people spend/waste £1.50 per text message for entering tv quiz shows, or pay £3.00 for some fancy wallpaper on their phone !!
Just a thought !

Nice thought bladefan2 but wouldn't really work. You could argue that FF, Cliffcs repro and the Mecca should have a cut too.

I really can't believe that people are attacking someone for charging a small fee for a piece of software they have written !
As a programmer myself and also someone who has done nearly 100 layouts. I can say that writing a decent fruit machine simulator is far far harder and more work than creating layouts.
Steve has also released dozens and dozens of free layouts for mfme over the years and released his last simulator for free also.

You make a decent 20 liner s16 type sim i'll gladly pay for that - i'd rather you charge me a tenner for a really good s16 simulator than me pay £300+ a time in the real world

Same here. So? (and yes I did code a sim, which is what brought me to FME)
Besides, if the reel symbols and sounds are different (I think I remember reading that somewhere) then its not really a Party Time sim is is? If these have been changed due to copyright infringement then you could also argue that the name 'Party Time' should not be used also.
Finally, having thought about it overnight, I have NO objection to Steve charging for a sim he's written. I just don't agree to it being done here where everything else is free.

Got to say I agree with Steve charging if he wants, but he shouldn't be really advertising in a thread - he should take out an advert like other people -- Just a thought I think that's what DAD's saying too!!!
£3 could be cheap I don't know - but I think you could quite easily argue anybody could use this as an advertising thread then and FE would turn in to a load of adverts and not the interesting content we currently have..

Currently not so far im working on it but the few testers that said it was good and others kept emailing me to get it out faster.. so i let it out earlier than i wanted to really...

This is an update that fix's the problem of install when MSSTDFMT.DLL is not present on user's machine....
If MSSTDFMT.DLL is already installed on machine then no need to use this one
