Ok..

Ive sat down and read all the replies, and it is indeed good to see people airing their views. I would be good however if people could do the olde constructive critisism without getting nasty - but even im no angel here.

steve did the correct thing and ask for permission to host the release here with the understanding that a donation would be made for the upkeep of the site. therefore im sure if the release was made elsewhere, a fee system would also be in use.

The release itself is crisp clear and easy flowing game is to be had whilst playing. If you compare games form Steves first releases, you`ll notice improvements in his code and game play. whats also handy here is that he is also around to answer any questions in regards to requests and bug fixes.

As for the debait between rights and wrongs, i am indeed a bird on a fence here, looking at both points of view - steve has put many many man hours into this SIM and asks for a small price of £3, bearing in mind all his previous releases were free.

DAD commented also that he has also placed 1000`s of man hours of effort into his releases, something i would never argue, but does indeed explain that he has never charged for any of his releases.

Who `should` make any money out of this? one thing for sure is that some sites need donations to continue, another point of view is that if Steve didnt place this key code and charge on his software, somebody on ebay will sell it on and make a profit out of someone elses hard work - and in this case not the author.

that"s exactly my point, as i already stated in an earlier post, and i"m sure if it was someone else that had done all the hard work they wouldn2t be happy about some theiving sod making a profit out of it.

talking of ebay i see that your friend t-o-t is selling your golden game emptier system ( which he says is his copyrite) for £7.99.

Only a matter of time before someone uses a disasember and removes the code protection -- quite easy to do really when you know what you are doing

I mean come on how many people download PC games from torrent sites that have had the protection removed... hardly rocket science is it boys ?

Daza, Steve said that himself mate at the beggining of the thread...

Whats right is right and wrongs wrong of course and we can't pick and choose I know...but whoever was to unlock and make public would surely break such trust as that with v9 within the community.

In my opinion whoever does this is a lowlife c**t. Its one thing to stick it to a big company but to rip the protection of a home coded program to avoid paying 3 quid is beyond low.

This thread has quickly changed from a is it right to sell an emulator via the new releases forum to breaking protection. To be fair, if somebody wants to break the protection it isn't hard, but is ony supposed to stop the casual user. What is an issue is whether this is the correct place to release this.

Am I correct?
If it's chargeable it's not a new release as we don't put software illusions stuff on here.

This should be in the adverts section. I will be releasing a few releases over the next few months. One being a fruit machine creation tool (which I may charge for/ not sure, but if I do I will pay for an advert and not advertise in a new release thread), the other being a free game in the partytime/double decker arena type game - as this is going to be free will be in the new releases thread and contain new graphics!!

But guess the long thread becomes an even better advertising tool - lol.. So I should really shut up!! ;)

Oh and before anybody else say it -- Yes I know my software is full of bugs :p

Just save it as a jpeg or gif, then upload it. BMP files eat up the bandwidth.

just been readin this, missed you all this weekend, been to prague and got well f***ed for £50, menu was a bit old though.!!

I couldnt be arsed to read all of this but by the looks of it, we got a member who has completed some tasty work, who wants a tipping for it. Fair play, two sides to this,

1. you are all a bunch of tight c***s.

2. The guy has the f*****g cheek to ask for money.!!!, when everyone else has done one free.

Whilst i understand some of you boys get a hard on when anyone mentions Party time - come on, its the most boring game on the planet. X0X. I have had more fun entertaining the old folk at karaoke.

Lets get real, post the sim on ere and lets get on with it. or if you have already done that between pages 6-current, Ignore me.

I beleive the latest ver 0.6 is on the repo to download and 50p from the £3 goes to this site so after that and paypal fee's i made £2 hardly a massive amount considering i been working on getting it playing nice and bug free for many weeks..

Also i hope to have a 25 spin demo version out very soon then you can all make your mind up if its worth getting or not ??

The only reason i released it in the first place was there has been at least 2 or 3 people going to release one and it never came about. When i mentioned i was doing one i was getting loads of emails so i just went with it.

People also said if it was gonna be half as good as the MEGACASH sim i did then release it so i did.

If this has upset anybody im sorry but everyone has a choice wether to get it or not and the few that have, have not said a bad word against it...

Like most people i liked james sim's and if they were up to the standard of mine ( eg 99.9% bug free ) i would have gladly paid £3 for em

The only reason mine dont use the artwork to make it totally great is the obvious reason ! its copywrited !

As for the sounds if they were to use the real ones on my sim theres nothing i can do about that

Each to there own i say....

What's that in English please???

I think "everybody" has agreed he is perfectly and reasonably justified to sell it - lots of people already do this.. And good on him! However the question is whether is should be i the new release thread if it's not free or should it be on advertising??

Plus he is a clever guy and personal circumstances can mean people are unemployed not by choice! Sure he will be working in no time, and hopefully this will give him some small amount of money for his hard work! ;)

By the way - I have perfected the smooth scrolling on the reels on mine now! :) £2.99

BLOODY HELL... I work over the weekend watching this thread jump and jump... getting a joke now.

I loved the way that everyone was slating it until they realised it was Steve P that did it, then changed their minds when someone mentioned who he was.

Gotta agree he has done some fantastic work and has donated loads (as have others) to the scene. And definately agree on the £3 thingy, I personally have only ever donated £5 to the site, (and the odd layout) but thats considerably more than I'd say 95% of the members here, £3 is nothing these days, less than 40 mins work on minimum wage. (or 0.2 seconds of Bill Gates life or something lol)

May buy this in the future, never really liked party time tho :)

I was just wondering, is it possible to code a sim with a feature board?
