Yeah its done as well but with people not wanting to pay £3 i not bothered with it
Also i think astra would get the hump
Steve
i would pay £3 for it.
i have purchased several sims in the past. before fme there were only sims available and a lot of them were just plain awful. my favourites were 'smiley fruit machine' (is the person that coded that around here?) i think he pulled it off the net when his code got cracked. my other favourites were the 5 3d games by ultisoft. thank goodness i got the disk for $30 with the 3d and the 20 or so themed machines before real networks go hold of them and tried charging $20 for each game, they retired them farely quickly. whilst on this subjetgc, will the 3d ultisoft games work on vista? i think these games ran in dos so i suspect they will not. when i run them in win me, my pc usually crashes when i exit out of the games and my pc tries to return to windows.
although the above were enjoyable to play, percentage control was totally non existand being able to win rediculous amounts of money, in fact, it was imposstble to lose anything on nearly all of them.
i think the first sim to have some sort of percentage control was 'fruitsim's' 'go for glory' which is a £1000 club machine based on 'lucky strike' i think. an excellent machine with great sound and graphics. this was a chargeable sim for the first year or two then it was released as freeware.
i have purchased some of the early software illusions stuff but find them a little buggy, the graphics were not brilliant and the sounds seemed very farmiluar - most of them reminded me of sound clips from emulated machines to the extent that i can't place any originality to the sound effects. i have tried a couple of their newer games in demo mode and they are just so slow, i'll try again when i get a new computer.
one suggestion, perhaps a separate sim section should be added to the forums. where either sims can be hosted or people could link their sims to their own websites. this way the emu and sim releases would be kept separate and so there would be less confusion regarding emulator and simulator releases.
