I was just wondering, is it possible to code a sim with a feature board?

Funny you should say that - There are lots on Software illusions etc. I have one which is 60% finished - I will try and put up some screenshots later, but I am not releasing any of these until I am 100% sure that they are bug free and the graphics are not copyright of anybody - they will be all 100% my own work - lol...

I know some people don't like sims, but as most of the newer roms seem to be failing at least it adds diversity to the scene, and people can either take or leave them.. ;)

Thats good to hear. What we/FME scene(to keep it fresh) really need is a team/s that consist a programmer, an artist (maybe 2) and someone to do music/samples.
I think that a few people could come up with stuff to rival the current crop of clone machines.

I had Dazza working on some graphics on my old games - You still up for it mate?? Remembering that they have to be originalish rather than a direct copy!! ;)

Anybody any good with sound effects let me know and we can collaborate on a Fruit-emu game - I will work with somebody on the coding too if they want - although none16 games are a piece of piss to code to be honest - my new games will be using smoother graphics and stuff.. but no wrong wins will be possible due to my new coding etc.

;)

Not bad streak there !

How you been playing it ? taking wins ? forcing it ?

As it does have a mild anti force system in place lol

I had JP hold yesterday twice for a nice £105

i put £1000 in, refused all bottom reel wins that i could, ie obviously it rolls in some wins automatically. after getting some small streaks it went on aboujt a £150 take with only a few wins on the bottom reels. then it dropped to around £790 when it went on the £135 streak.

one question after this streak i carried on playing it for a while and got some more small streaks, but on a couple of occasions it would streak around £10 then go back to the bottom and go back up again immediately? is it meant to do this?

is there any kind of delay setting in it anywhere? i find the bottom reels are a little too fast. amazing as i am running windows me on a 4 year old computer. usually things run too slow if anything!! the top reels run lovely

if you do an update in the future, any chance of keyboard short cuts?

overall a great game. i like the reel hold sounds, remind me of the original bar x reel stop sounds.

with this sort of attitude its not gonna get u vey far, however as its already been said b4 people will always have there rant and to be honest if they wanna rant then let um but however if u wanna release it and people will buy it if they want it. its like saying don't judge a book by its cover until u have read it

i would pay £3 for it.

i have purchased several sims in the past. before fme there were only sims available and a lot of them were just plain awful. my favourites were 'smiley fruit machine' (is the person that coded that around here?) i think he pulled it off the net when his code got cracked. my other favourites were the 5 3d games by ultisoft. thank goodness i got the disk for $30 with the 3d and the 20 or so themed machines before real networks go hold of them and tried charging $20 for each game, they retired them farely quickly. whilst on this subjetgc, will the 3d ultisoft games work on vista? i think these games ran in dos so i suspect they will not. when i run them in win me, my pc usually crashes when i exit out of the games and my pc tries to return to windows.

although the above were enjoyable to play, percentage control was totally non existand being able to win rediculous amounts of money, in fact, it was imposstble to lose anything on nearly all of them.

i think the first sim to have some sort of percentage control was 'fruitsim's' 'go for glory' which is a £1000 club machine based on 'lucky strike' i think. an excellent machine with great sound and graphics. this was a chargeable sim for the first year or two then it was released as freeware.

i have purchased some of the early software illusions stuff but find them a little buggy, the graphics were not brilliant and the sounds seemed very farmiluar - most of them reminded me of sound clips from emulated machines to the extent that i can't place any originality to the sound effects. i have tried a couple of their newer games in demo mode and they are just so slow, i'll try again when i get a new computer.

one suggestion, perhaps a separate sim section should be added to the forums. where either sims can be hosted or people could link their sims to their own websites. this way the emu and sim releases would be kept separate and so there would be less confusion regarding emulator and simulator releases.

So basicly you was doing a HARD force ! lol it has some basic code to combat that ;)

But after so long it will just hit a high feature to level %
This would also happen with no force

Any feature can re-enter immediately ( randomly )

As for reel speed that was the speed most people wanted them at - sorry no delay setting.. the way its done at mo theres no way i can change that.

keyboard short cuts are something im looking into doing on the next SIM

Many thanks for your comments its very nice to get some feed back from someone who has played it.

Just one Q do you find it unpredictable ?

if you want the real sounds you can do what i did and rename the ones from guitars simulation then put them in the sounds folder of party zone - and its identical - i thought cheeky f***er asking for £3 but now im thinkin what i cheeky f*** i am for saying that - £3 is well less then what this is worth and i DESPISE party time normally.

My 2 cents there :D

Ok im hopefully adding this to the Trial Version today

However I CANT use Space or Enter

So how about

1 = hold 1
2 = hold 2
3 = hold 3
S = Start
C = Cancel
T = Take Credit Bank etc
0 = £1
N = Highest Note ?

Maybe just have a £1 credit button and a £20 Note button ?

so 0 = £1 9 = £20 ?

ideas ??

Well as I have had several requests for screenshots of my WIP added it here;

This doesn't do it justice, as the graphics are 100% smooth reel scrolls - The beauty of this is that every reel will be configurable (in length and layout), so will sounds be, as well as graphics and the prize values, as I hold them all in saved files which you can change.

In the creation tool that I am almost finished you will be able to change everything, at the moment though this version will play very very similarly to games like partytime etc.. Obviously it's a 100% new version though - The graphics on the screenshot will not be used in the final version (ie the BFM symbol I temporarily borrowed).

This should be released in about a week as it's going to be 100% ;)

Well, I am getting through this at a great rate - thanks in part to my fruit machine creation tool! But anybody talk me through using photoshop to make buttons lighter and stuff -- I have tried using the lighten tool etc, and it just makes them look naff -- Is it me or is there an easier way?

Thanks in advance.
J

PS - I will be getting rid of the BFM/ Bell symbols in the nest short while. You will be able to change the reels and percentage on final release.
