The global population has doubled since 1940. Add to that the industrialization, increased polution & pollutants pumped out, massive amounts of methane produced by cows and pigs to make those burgers & sausages churned out by mc-dogends etc, as well as how much land cattle (and oxen) can make barren by over-grazing etc then I have to disagree with you. Mankind has had a HUGE impact on this planet and is continuing to do so, destroying resources etc etc.

One day it will all be gone and then what. Go waaah? or say "oh eff they were right"?

Provide the scientific proof and we'll listen to you, don't and you are just another of the idiots that want us going about in horse and cart eating lentils and stinking of our own shit protesting in a tunnel.

Ok lets get a litte scientific....apologies or the geekyness, yes its a long read but hopefully some of you will find it at least interesting so bear with me

Geologically we are only just out of an ice age, about 10,000 years out to be fair. The next one will be in around 17,000 years and so we are currently in whats called an Interglacial. During that time the earth will naturally warm and then once past its peak will begin to cool again. Evidence of this can be seen in soil and core samples taken from depths all over the world. Thers literally been tons of smaller glaciations and each time the earth has warmed and then cooled again.

It also encompasses something called the Milankovitch cylces, thats basically a "tilt" and "wobble" of the earth in its orbit, over the space of around 27,000 years the two parts become more pronounced and then move back again. As such some area slowly become further away from the sun as the years go by. ITs miniscule in movement but over thousands of years its possible it could be looked at.

Couple to all of this the fact that natural occuring phenomenon are able to put out more CO2 than America can manage in a decade and it kinda puts off the whole greenhouse gasses theory too. Mount vesuvius' eruption threw out a ridiculous amount of CO2 that we just cannot compare with, the earth and mankind survived that just fine.

The problem is that the analysis of global warming myths have changed so much over the years, alleged experts predictied about 15 years ago that the earth could be as much as 15 degrees hotter by 2050 on average. 5 years later that average was down to around 10 degrees. Only a couple of years ago they reckoned it to be about 0.5 degrees....Woah f*** me get the sunblock out, 0.5 degrees, thats oven basting time!

To put it into perspective try this, if global warming is happening why is each year not a record year in terms of heat?

1998 was a record year, the next record year was 2005...hang on if its warming so much what happened to the 7 years in between that, was global warming taking a break?

look at how much it was up by too..

Quote

Their data show that the average temperature during 2005 in the Northern Hemisphere is 0.65C above the average for 1961-1990

0.65 degree increase from an average started some 45 years ago? thats hardly extreme now is it?

Oh and thats not forgetting that the 1998 high was a bit off, seems the scientists forgot to put in the full data for december, thats kinda gonna throw things of a bit now aint it!

The polar ice sheets is a great one....

The north pole is already in the water, its a floating mass of ice, if it melts well we might see a marginal increase in seas levels but dont expect to see london underwater, much as that wouldnt be a tragic thing. As for Antarctica, well its the largest single land mass on the planet, if it all melts there we might see a few new grand lakes appear but much of it probably wont make it as far as the oceans....

Global warming is bollocks, its a natural occurence and scientists have yet to prove that its not. They can prove that CO2 can contribute to it but they cant prove that we are producing enough to have any effect. However the earth has been doing it naturally for nearly 4.5 billion years now. We are but a blip on that

The only reason to be reducing our emmisions is for our own health, posinous gasses that we are throwing out so close to urban areas is causing a massive increase in respiratory conditions and things such as emphasema are life threatening. Sadly we dont seem to take heed when people say stop doing this cos it effects your health. However throw up a bigger one and tell everyone your killing the planet and suddenly everyone jumps into line.

ITs a politicians dream, tell them your gonna try and help save the planet and watch the votes come in!

I've got loads more on this one but i hazard that i've probably lost many of you by now and have a few already tucked into a good nights sleep due to reading :)

lol, it just bugs me that people are believing all that being told without being showed comparative data as proof of it. They are just being told to believe it and accepting it must be true. Much better to research it yourself and create your own decisions from it.

Or better still at least listen to the true specialists in the subject, plenty of which you will find working for the National Environmental Research Council (NERC) based down at the Southampton Oceanographic Centre (SOC) at dock 4 of Southampton docks. :)

I am with you there is far too much created mathematical satistical data with no substance, my father did a report on noise a few months back I'll not go into too much detail but because his report did not declare that a nuisance was caused rather than object his findings and get a report independantly made they (the complainant) reported him to the institute of acoustics saying his integrity was poor needless to say they were told to f*** off.

As you mentioned previously about the people doing these predicitons, they are the same ones who do the weather and they cant even get a few day prediction right half the time.

Thing is these models for climate changes and such are incredbily complex. Its these models that are requiring some of the biggest super computers in the world to run. Each year they find out some other factor or variable they need to put in to make it more precise. Thats whats caused them to change their decisions on the average temprature increase over the years, as they refine it more and more the more they find out its not as bad as they previously predicited. Once they get it right no doubt the model will just come up and say there is no issue....

I have also maintained from the start that most of the studies made are based heavily on maths, maths cannot tell you the length of a piece of string neither can it predict the weather.

Made me pissmesel other day there was a weather forecaster online in an interview stated 'its hard to predict the weather with climate change'.

bwhahahahahahahaha

I agree with you Alec and Fergo (who would dare argue ;) ) but maybe it's all the hot air coming from Fruit Forums at the moment that's responsible for the "global warming"

In fairness i did clearly write in my last post it depends who you want to believe as to what are causing the supposed planet damage, and if global warming actually exists at all. I try and keep an open mind if possible. It's hard to know what to believe. The people that think we should do more blah blah are wasting their time unless the bigger countries make any changes. Some of those countries appear to be sceptical about the alledged evidence that has been put forward by some scientists.

A few of the same countries however took part in the global series of concerts highlighting the supposed climate change. It appears as if they don't accept the evidence yet enough to do anything about it, but are happy to 'go with the flow' and join everyone else.

Global Warming is a load of shite, devised by powerful nations to extort more money from their citizens in the form of increased taxes (such as airport tax), whilst, at the same time, placing a huge financial burden on developing countries, in order to keep them eating from the hands of the powerful nations.

The Earth has, since the dawn of time, naturally cooled and heated up. it's not a new phenomenon, and it has f*** all to do with CO2 emissions. I'm sick of hearing about it. The recent Live Earth concert made me cringe, pop stars making shit loads of money, and flying in on private jets in order to talk pish to us about having to reduce our "carbon footprint". Piss off and stop talking shite man!!

Global Warming = MYTH
