Anybody else downloaded the new version of MFME which is on a thread at Fruit Forums - Having a look at it, it does make a lot more machines runners - so bingo :)

just type in fruit forums .com on a search engine and take a look - I am not linking to it unfortunately as I don't know FE's stance on this yet. However this thread is more for discussion of it if that's ok mods.

I was waiting for one of these posts.

****

In a nutshell what this new emulator means (which could be a staged version of 9.4 to be honest) is that some layouts that weren't possible before - for example MPU5's with disk reels - are now possible. As this emulator has only just been released (en mass) there are probably no layouts - however I would give it a few days before we start seeing releases :)

I grab these yesterday before they were pulled from DAD's site.
Not looked at either one yet really. Does anyone know if certain things are fixed in these, like the disc reel problem or the odd lamping problem?

ROms I have tried to load in look promising - from what I can tell - and what other people are claiming - the disk is working fine now. Not sure on the random lamping yet but I'll look at that next..

All looks very promising though.

Can't really comment on Duplu and Wozza's thoughts...but

Sure any discussion would be fine just as V9 was at this stage.

Thanks to everyone for not posting the Emulator on their replies though.

Had a quick play with V10.1a and it seems to 99% fix the random lamping issue, so that's good news :)

I am just checking some of them now too - does seem to fix quite a few bits and bobs - Who said CJW ain't a kind guy!! :)

Thanks Chopley :)

I have deliberately not linked to the emulator and I am sure everybody who needs it will get it via other sources anyway as you'll be able to get it everywhere by tomorrow :D

Will look at emu when get back from work. Sounds great news so far about disc reels and old classics been done like up n over.

Before I see the new emu just a quick question about epoch is it listed under techs but not working? Or is it uncomplete like sound samples been there and roms giving messages on alpha.

Anyways that the informative posts so far

As far as I can tell Epoch and Electrocoin are in the emu but they're not actually "hooked up" - it really is a kind of alpha implementation, probably Chris putting some of the most basic routines in and stuff like that, so basically, it won't even boot one of the ROMs up.

Bear in mind it's early days though and you never know what trickery might be turned up as the days roll by!

Not wanting to pimp FF or anything, (honest!), but I've started a thread over there designed to specifically address these findings/issues as they crop up.
