f*****g hell mate, it defies belief that the local social services have treated you & your son like this, admit to being in the wrong, & yet do naff all to assist.
I myself have had working experience in this field with my own mother, who for over 20 years has had severe mental health problems, coupled with physical health issues, & now I'm a full-time carer for her.
Unfortunately about two years back, Derbyshire Social Services pulled ALL support for myself & mum due down to cost & not enough staff, something which deeply upset both mum, & her care manager from Social Services who I will say now had been an absolutely fantastic bloke, & even came to me once when his own health & then mental health took a battering... something I would deffo do for the guy... he had dug both of us out of many holes before.
Unfortunately as my mum's shrink has said (Another fantastic bloke from Eastern Europe, but only a locum) funding for mental health services is at an all time low, due mostly the cash going to fund crap like NHS Direct, which has left the guy frustrated as hell at being so restricted with doing stuff, but wanting to do so much more for folk.
I will say this, you are not alone here in so many aspects, but I am wondering if you have been offered any assistance at all from your local NHS Mental Health team? If not, get onto your GP & start twisting a few arms, even if it's just for your own well being.
Also two other places you can seek help from:
Carers UK : Information <----- should have a local branch near you, which should offer help and advice.
Mind (National Association for Mental Health) <----- National Mental Health charity who are a good source of information.
Also if you want, give me a PM here, even if it's just for a chat.
