Hi All
Just wondered whether anyone has a spare working Maygay M1b Board that they would be prepared to sell to me, or know anyone that could possibly fix my existing M1b Board.
I have a Club Stake Yer Claim machine made by Global which uses Maygay Technology - which unfortunately isn't working at present.
When the machine is switched on, strange characters appear on the alpha display, and some of the lights pulse every couple of seconds or so. That's all that happens. Reels don't even twitch, no sound whatoever, just doesn't want to boot. All LED's on the M1b board are lit except for the +12v, which I think is ok as I believe this doesn't lite up until the machine boots.
I have changed the power supply (which made no difference whatsoever) and also tried another program card (from my Eastenders machine) but made no difference either. I have also checked all connections time and time again.
I can therefore only assume that the M1b Board is faulty - but I could be wrong. I have searched previous threads and note that Battery Leakage is common with Maygay Boards, but to be honest I haven't noticed any so far, but will take a closer look in daylight tomorrow. I think it still has the original battery on it (is it Ni-cad?) but I undertsand that a Lithium Battery maybe better.
Please can anyone shed any light on this, as I have spent hours trying to fix it already, but have now cracked and seek advice from the professionals!!!
Many thanks in advance for any help / advice you can offer.
Kind regards. John
Anyone have a Maygay M1b Board??

Hi Baz
I did consider trying the board from my Eastender machine, but that is a M1a Board - would it be ok to try - or is there a difference.
Thanks Baz

Sounds like a leaky battery to me.
Only problem with M1B is that the board connections to either side are solid and not hollow so by the time something breaks the battery has leaked everywhere.
Then again it doesn't have to be the battery. I'm no engineer but I feel your pain. I only got my eastenders machine going again yesterday. Right pain in the a***
If its not the battery my advice is to remove tha battery anyway and fly lead it off the board. That way if it leaks it only damages the cabinet slightly.

i cant remember mate as i didn't deal with this tech too much.
i was a trainee when this tech was in its prime.
i'd wait until someone else backs me up on it before doing it though.

Thanks for the replies so far guys..........
Following on, does anyone know whether it is possible to replace a faulty M1b Board with a M1a board? Is there any particular reason why this would not be possible / feasible / wise to do??

Just got round to swopping my non-working M1b board in my Stake Yer Claim Machine to my working M1a board from my Eastenders machine and Bingo - Stake Yer Claim is alive again.... so it obviously is the M1b board which is faulty.
As previously explained in my original post, all LED's on the M1b Board are lit except for the +12v - The machine just doesn't seem to want to boot.
Just wondered whether this would be an easy fix for someone, obviously I would see them right for a few bob.
Otherwise, does anyone have or know where I can get a M1a or M1b Board.
Thanks for all your help guys. Hopefully I will soon be able to get both machines up and running together.
Great forum by the way - keep up the good work!!
