I got badly f***ed by this machine on a recent trip to the UK - I can well believe it had been "done" in some fashion as no machine would suck up so much cash as part of its natural cycle.

I have just bumped into its clone at a service station, on the way back home from Alton Towers yesterday, just as nasty.

Can't remember the name but it has all the same features sounds and a very similar layout. The only difference being the Warped feature is in the middle of the superboard now.

You would be surprised as how many people there are that play fruit machines full time and make a consistant profit from them.

Im at college now so not going to make that much for the next few years and what i do make will propably be spent on the weekend :D ...

Do you personally know people who make a real living from playing machines?

I've known several 'pro players' over the years, and though most of them like to give the impression that they're making £1000+ every week, one look at their shabby clothes, slummy houses and crappy cars tells another story.

Of those that I know for certain *were* making quite big money, few managed to do it consistently day in day out.

They might have a good week where they made £500 everyday, followed by one where they struggle to make £100 for the whole week.

The fact that they had to play practically 14 hours a day, every day to make their money meant that when times were bad,and tricks were thin on the ground, they were constantly exposing themselves to the dangers of undisciplined gambling.

Playing fruit machines for a living might seem like a dream come true for the average addict, but even when they *are* winning, they're perpetuating the addiction.

Spending all day in arcades pubs and bookies whilst sticking rigidly only to machines you 'know' you can beat requires almost superhuman will power, and is a very unhealthy stressful lifestyle.

I don't really know how hard or easy it is to make money playing these days, but if it's anything like it was 5 years ago, when I all but gave up (partly thanks to FOBTs and random machines taking over), I'd say it's a very dangerous 'profession' to enter into! :)

10 - 15 years ago, conditions for the average pro player were a lot more favourable and less risky (no £500 jackpot machines in arcades and bookies back then!).

Yes it is possible to clear a consistent profit on machines at the mo. upto 5 months ago I was just a munter having more down days than up & have probably lost thousands over the years. However since I discovered all the fruit machine forums I've been able to educate myself with everything you need to know. Now I work 6 days a week and also have a family to be with but I get about 3 sessions a week and I'm making on average £300 a week. I've not failed to make over £100 in a monday to sunday week for the last 4 months. The best I've done in 7 days is £715.
I play only in pubs and I cover at least 20 machines each week.
I play mainly Reds & only £35 JP's with 50p stake available.
I couldn't do it full time as it would do my brain in and I know it won't last forever but 5 months ago I would of said B*llocks to anyone claiming to make a living out of them, but now i'd consider myself a semi pro player and know it's possible.

Are you using emptiers?

If not, I reckon you've been incredibly lucky...or amazingly persistent!

No emptiers whatsoever. Never been lucky enough to have 1 that works. Only luck involved is that no player has beat me to a machine. New Reds are very hard to drop a JP from so unless somebody knows what theyre doing theyre rarely dropped, I go along force out a JP for around £30 - £40 cost and 95% of the new reds go £70 or £105. Believe me luck doesn't really come into it. theyre like clockwork, once a week 8 out of 10 of them give an average £20 - £30 profit which more than covers the dead ones. And Jailbirds by extreme is an awsome money maker. Then there's rovers return/pink panther/cluedo thats got an easy JP Rip on it for a few extra quid.

Sounds like you haven't got a lot of competition in your area!

go along force out a JP for around £30 - £40 cost and 95% of the new reds go £70 or £105.

just to add - when I last played Reds, forcing was rarely the best way to play them (in fact it was sometimes suicidal).
I assume they've changed the code, but I have to say, it does sound to me like you *have* been lucky - playing long term without a method/emptier almost always results in losses overall.

i still got a wiyb which is good for atleast £100+ profit a week.

got a couple of panthers which you cant exactly lose on.

and ofcourse a few reds which you cant exactly lose much on.

I know a bloke from pompey who plays fruits full time, i know he makes a killing from them he travels a lot though, aint seen him around Bognor for ages though.

Yes I'd say they have. No better example than Holey Moley. On £25 JP this was an absolute shocker for me. Several times I'd put £15 to £20 in without anything more than £2 being offered. Forced 1 once and it cost over £100 to finally get the top but only got £50 back. I stopped playing this but starting hearing good things about the £35 JP version. 1 turned up so I tried it and you can't believe the difference. Never cost me more than £60 to get the top and never had less than 2 JP's so worse case scenario you break even.

Another Example is Maygays Jewel of the Crown. An absolute Gash of a machine on £25, Never ever rolled for me on the few times I've forced it. Always cost £30+ for a JP even from a happy looking state, then not long ago a £35 version cropped up. The 50p stake gives like a permanent mega spin so when you get on the board you've already got all 3 diamonds lit and the cash stack values are double. Plus it streaks regularly for 2 JP's and afters. I now go out of my way to play it.

If your skill cash is up to it shouldn't more than £35 if playing OK fro the start, the streak is very good aswell.
