Just as a matter of interest does anyone have any Pinball tables in any pubs or arcades near them? Just wondered if they'd died out altogether. I was playing one last week in an arcade down town on the Isle Of Man. Elvira - Scared Stiff by Bally. It's been in there 10 years plus so it must still take a few quid. I know more things can go wrong with them but they all just seem to have disappeared. They had 3 but got rid of the other 2 and kept that one.

I did get Pin Mame on disk as i love that table and it is emulated. But it's a real bugger to use. I gave up. I've still got it somewhere. I even read the guide how to use it but got lost in downloading whatever into my directory etc. Does anyone else use it? A bit crap maybe but i was looking forward to having a go on some of the tables i used to remember from years ago. Ones have been emulated right back from the 60's and 70's. Using a fruit emu is a lot easier. But i guess there's more to emulate with a pinball table.

If i had the room i'd buy Scared Stiff. It's still at least £1500 and that's for a fairly knackered one. Finished the table last week :). Well almost........ right down to the last feature twice both times on my last bloody ball. Straight down the middle :(

What's everyone's favourite pinball tables? Does anyone own one?

It's sad though. I bet a lot got scrapped that weren't sold. There was one pub not far from me that had one. A Pool hustle themed one. It was crap and never had the sound on but you'd still see plenty of people playing it. Are the roms dumped like from a machine to make the emulation for a table? I just wish i could get it to work. I know where to download the tables and everything.

When i bought my last machine the bloke i bought it off offered me 3 pinball tables for a really good price. He had his own business. He said he had so many he couldn't get rid of them. Guess you'd need a lot of room for it. It's hard enough trying to source out a part for a fruit machine sometimes. Couldn't imagine having to find a new flipper, ramp etc. Nightmare. But the one in I.O.M must need servicing every now and then. So they must be getting parts from somewhere. Not direct from Bally surely? The flippers don't stick on it or anything. It's a very rare example of that table as it has all the extras on it that are missing usually. It's got to be worth 3k at least. As i put above, one in condition half as good as that goes on average for about £1500.

ahhhh yeah i went on there. It's well good. They had an SS that went for about £2500. It was there ages. So your Pin Mame works then? Maybe i'll have another crack at it sometime. I'd better get a new monitor first like. It's gonna look terrible on my current one. My dad was telling me about pinball tables he used to play. He was on about one called Apollo, from the 60's. If you got the highest score for the week you got something like 8 free pints in the pub where he used to play it. Which works out in todays money about 12p lol

He said the tables weren't as slanted as they are now and you had more chance. Bet one of them if you still had one, would be worth a fair few bob.
