What is it with Barcrest, they always always seem to be dead! They take lots for a board and then seem to kill you off in a matter of spins with offering very little, if only every machine played like a Red Gaming, much better gameplay, bigger streaks etc, I HATE BARCREST!

Yep, that's true, what do you think about these Machines that start the cash ladder off with 20p, 40p, 60p all the way up to £5 Jackpot LOL, I have played some and they seem unbelievably pathetic, do these throw big amounts of money at you lol?

Cool, well done though for not playing the Machines, as i;m under 18 I play the £5 Jackpot ones LOL, but today I was in an arcade and spotted Vortex £35 Jackpot, I get away with playing Machines in pubs but in Arcades they seem really strict if you know what I mean lol, I just wanted to get on it:(.

the gaming board inspectors do seem to visit arcades on a regular basis as they cannot afford to lose there gaming licence's as arcades take most money or should i say profits from the 18 area's

LOL, some Machines really confuse me, it makes me think if they actually ever pay out more than £2? ( on a £5 Jackpot Machine, eg ones which start off with 20p)

IMO i think its best to stick to the £5 jackpots moto as when you turn 18 you probably wont "love red gaming" anymore, you sound like i did when i was younger then you get hooked and you its hard to get of the hook.

Stick to the 5 pounders mate. They're cheaper. When i 1st started out i thought Red Gaming was good too. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what the manufacturer is, any machine can play dead. Especially if some lucky bugger has got there before ya ;).

Don't ask me, I've not played a single machine in the past 4 months (well - 121 days, or to put it another way - 17 weeks, 2 days (as of todays date, 28th October 2007))

I did write a huge reply but just deleted it - but the basic fact is the same. Be prepared for some nasty losses, especially if you realise you might not be able to fully control the amounts you put in (and I bet theres very few on here who can resist 'the last pound' that so often becomes £10... £20... e.t.c.) In the case of Red Gaming machines in particular - if you catch them at the wrong time on £25 or £35 jackpot, YOU ARE SCREWED. You haven't a HOPE IN HELL. They will NOT offer any features that would be useful with manipulation, or even any good features full stop. I think it's the 'frustration factor' that used to suck me into machines like Reds. They actively encourage you to keep putting more in, hoping they 'wake up', using 'fake backing' in the process.

It's not as easy as saying 'you have to know when they are playing dead', because I've had Reds in the past playing totally dead for say £10 when I've gone on them, then dropping in £75+ from top features. Mind you, sometimes you'd end up putting in £75 on top of the original tenner and being offered no moe than £3 from the cash stack, and sweet fook all from the features.

Your spot on about reds there. As i put on another thread they ain't half as good as they used to be. I think they cottened on to the fact they were easy to drop and force. You'll be hard pushed to find an old red around these days. Most have been taken out and replaced with the latest crap versions.

Anyone played a machine called "Take the piece" BFM chess type theme..I was playing it the other night..decided it was "Taking the piece"..walked away with a fiver to stick in DOND.

Guy comes up starts playing it,,on the feature IM...gets the jackie..AND A REPEAT..£50..next board IM again..takes mega-streak..gives him about £65..starts auto-paying..next spin 3 cherries..exchanged IM again..take the jackie and no repeat this time..plays about another fiver through it and decides hes killed it enough.

Needless to say i wasnt very happy :)
Mmmmmm...Sandy ive 'ad her ye know. :)

No they ain't. Not as good as they was.

Todd, yeah i've played that down a bookies a while ago. Came off about £50 up. It's quite a good machine when it's in a good mood. Not seen it anywhere since though. Maybe it pays out too much lol ;)
