i have got mfme v3. every time i go to play anything on dxcellent.com i cant play them as it says no rom, and i download both the layout and the rom, can anyone tell where i am going wrong.

Over at DX you'll see Two files.....ROM and LAYOUT....
Download BOTH and unzip to the SAME folder....Emulation complete

i do put both into the same folder as the emulator, do i need a higher or a lower version of a mfme emulator?

Well basically i use MFME 1.1 for all my 1.1 Games
i use MFME 2.0/3.0 for all my 2.0/3.0 Games
i use MFME 2.1/3.1 for all my 2.1/3.1 Games
i use MFME 9.4 for all my 9.4 Games
i use seperate ones to play my roms on
so it makes it easier and then i know what rom goes with which emulator better then having them scattered around and checking which 1's go to which 1 when u come to find them . it can be a pain in the @ss ....

Try unzipping the files ........... and the layout and the rom need to be in the SAME FOLDER
Also use MFME 10.1a if unsure if higher version needed.

also the zx10000 emulater will play every fruit machine even todays latest versions
