Hey,
I am LOOKING to update Reels Of Fun (it's NOT confirmed) but I would like some opinions of what you think.
Here is the current site: Reels Of Fun
The idea: Reels Of Fun (You will have to register for a FREE account)
Any ideas / opinions are welcomed
Remember, this is NOT the new site (yet hopefully) lol.
Edit: Ignore the banner at the top as this is nothing to do with the design!

?????????????????????????????
i'm confused ???
is this a joint project with steve pipps (fruitman69)?
do you not like the design of his site and want to change it into a forum? does he know you want to change it?
is this your own project - that you want to set an alternative FME forums site? if this is the case, i would suggest you change the name as its going to get very confusing.
if the banner at the top of the site should be ignored, why not remove it? where did you get it from? the only reelsoffun.co.uk i know is steve's one.
i've just gone here Game List (1 Viewing)
A List of all emulators on this site
after clicking the 'game list' link i get taken to the 'take it or leave it' link.
take it or leave it is not an emulator nor a layout. it is a stand alone coded program that runs the game. you would need to create a 'simulators' section to put it in the correct place so as to prevent the confusion between the emulators and layouts and simulators.
i think the most important thing is, have you made any contact with steve p (fruitman69)? if you have not, i would suggest you do immediately and that you probably should have done before putting the suggestion on here.
personally, i like that site the way it is, it has its own purpose and is easy to follow. i see no reason why it should be turned into another forum. unless of course, thats what the author wants.

OK, The emulator was an error on my part, I will change it to Simulator
I wouldn't call it a "joint" project nor am I changing his layout.. We were both looking at ways to redesign his site and this is one of the options
The banner is only there to save it being an empty space, at least there is some content that is there.
No content is on the site, I am merely looking for opinions on the general layout - which is why you only see the link to Take It Or Leave It

Hi,
yes i did know about it and i have said that its not likely that it would ever be worth doing.
But he wanted to do it for something to do so didnt object.
I agree with richard that my site is not and never indends to be in the same league as fruit emu etc

Is this your site? Secondly, does this site involve the exchanging of details of a piece of plastic for monetary purposes?
<span style='font-family: Comic Sans MS'><span style='font-size: 12px;'>It's all done in the best possible taste. </span></span>

It's not my site, it was an idea for fruitman69 for a new design
This site is free to join but his simulators are paid to download (as with his current site)

I dont think the current site needs a total overhaul.
But get rid of the BLACK background and brightly coloured text! lol
Keep things plain and simple and it will look great.
Thats my opinion anyway.

Another free advert for a site you have to pay for again ...
Why not just pay to have an advert stuck on this site ????

Quite frankly im getting a bit tired of people saying im getting ads from this site on threads i have no control over...
i did not start either of the threads in question,
If sunderlandJ could confirm that i had no part of this i would be happy as i certainly did NOT ask him to start this thread !!
Just for the record IF i wanted to use this site to boost awareness of my site i would do a thread myself and dont need other people to do it for me i do know where the "new thread" button is, and duplu has already said in the past its ok anyway not that i have taken advantage of this.
And yes i am a little hacked off... getting it in the neck from you lot everytime someone does a thread about my site.
Oh how things change from when i was releasing classic layouts at about 1 every 2 days.... and you all wonder why i dont anymore ??

Come on - that's a bit rich mate - You can't compare doing classics for free to charging for them??? And Duplu has given you permission, so?? Doesn't mean the members have to like everything that is sanctioned - that's what a democracy is.. It does seem like everytime there is a "NEW" release on your site we get a few threads on here is all, if that's not down to you then the comments still stand. The people who are starting the threads might like to know that a lot of members don't like to have sold machines pushed in a free forum discussing what is apart from yours a free market.
I wasn't going to even get involved this time. But for this thread to appear so quickly after the last and you to have a go at a member for making a comment I am sure most of the membership have been thinking is a little bit rich is all!! You released a lot of good classics, but that shouldn't give people the impetus now to flood the forums with comments on paid software.
If we kept getting threads started discussing other paid for fruit machines on here what would you think?? Honestly.

Course im gonna get pissed off - there is 14 games on my site and someone has started a thread about 2 of them - nothing to do with me - yet i get it in the neck.... if you was getting it in the neck for something you not done you would be getting pissed off with it too and dont say you wouldnt...
if i had my way i would get a mod to delete this thread

Ok so why dont you just gently tell the thread starters that this isnt the place for it instead of having a pop at someone who has no control over what other people do ??
Wouldnt that be a fairer more polite way of doing it ??
Steve

Fair enough mate! I accept that if I was you I would be pissed off about this, but the comments are not about you, they are about the fact that this same thing keeps coming up.... anyway I actually like come of your machines, just think they shouldn't creep in to main threads whoever puts them there all the time.
PS: I am also not very good at being polite in text I shoudl do more smilies...
