They have now seen the site and Barcrest will be contacting Ebay as a matter of urgency and the user will either be on the end of a heafty bill or it could yet be worse.
I mentioned that this is not the only person doing this on line so i imagine the legal dept will be surfing ebay for a bit this morning to see just how many people are doing this....
It looks like were getting somewhere now with this campaign so scratch another score up..
Cd Sellers 1 Fruit emu 2.

Thing is that this site makes no charge for downloading the roms....
Where as supplying of roms for personal profit, however small....is a major no no....and could encompass the wrath of the DTI....not a nice thing.

FW i get the feeling you might even be a seller on ebay...
You seem very negative towards this whole thing. It wouldnt surprise me if you downloaded the roms from here then sold them on yourself.
Barcrest are now aware of the situation and as razor said we dont sell the roms they are free to download....
Could be an interesting new year....
Merry Xmas.

pg ur not getting my point.. my point being fruit-emu are supplying rom's for people to download free but they are being sold on ebay by users of fruit-emu and others alike.
if anything barcrest will attempt to gun the supplier.
and another thing people who make donation's are infact handing cash over which means fruit-emu is accepting money for whatever reason...NO OFFENCE LADS but barcrest will see it differently.

Correct. If anything happens at all as a result of these petty, spiteful "do-gooders" drawing the FM companies' attention to emu sellers, it'll probably be sites like this one being closed down, because it's a lot easier to shut down the source than it is to chase after hundreds of individual eBay sellers.

After all donations are only if you want to. If you were charged to download then yes we would be in the same boat but its not like that.
Barcrest dont give a dam that there rom files are open to the public otherwise they wouldnt of released them in the process.
The issue they have is someone selling on their work which they released for free.
am btw im sure barcrest know that these sites exist and after all you dont exactly need a lot of brains to search the web.. even FW found this site so thats saying something.

Exactly, you don't see the FBI arresting millions of street corner drug pushers, they go for the Columbian barons, hitting at the source.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure good intentions were meant, I just hope it doesn't came back and bite us in the arse.

pook as reguards my last post its true the only way barcrest will act, its i'm afraid to say its gonna be towards the supplier's i'm sorry to say. i hope it doesn't come to that, but that is my view as for drug dealers and pushers i think thats going off the subject alittle thats to do with the police not barcrest, but i do understand the point ur making. as for pg geddin in touch with barcrest and pointing them in the direction of cd sellers, if barcrest manage to get hold of any cd's then they will investigate as to where the main suppliers are, i.e fruit-emu,dxexcellent,+ many more and i can see severe action been taken, and as i said b4 they will have the full backing of BACTA and the licencing board and parliment. trust me the gaming board work very very closely with the above mentioned.
this is fact not babble as some fruit-emuer's might think.
its only a matter of time now if pg has been in touch with barcrest
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE AT FRUIT-EMU

Just a quick point to make - please consider this:
To be blunt, thank your lucky stars that the fruit machine MANUFACTURERS (i.e. the people that actually really OWN the layouts/artwork/ROMs etc. you guys are "producing" in any real sense) don't get as precious as some of you lot are getting about this... may I remind you that the layouts themselves are CREATED using resources without the manufacturer's consent in the first place?
I enjoy FME as much as the next man, and am as grateful as anyone for the many fine layouts that are produced, but "Fruit Theft"!??? Do me a favour...
As for the layout locking issue, well, we've been there before too. Your choice, but let's not pretend that locking a layout would have any effect on whether or not it will be copied onto a bootleg CD or otherwise - with or without "logo". Must be some other reason then... *sighs*

ziggy on this post or anything mate this is how to attach a link...
When you are looking at a page simply Highlight the whole address on the address bar by putting your pointer on the address and left click... then right click scroll down and press copy......open the post/page where you want to put it and left click where you want it put,you will see the flashing I symbol.....right click again and scroll down to and click paste...Thats it.
Is this what you mean by you cannot create links on a page?

Interested in a mention earlier about barcrest releasing roms to the public?
Did barcrest actually release roms for the 'public' to download at any point?
The only place I know of to get roms legally is from the barcrest BBS, which you have to be a member of (ie a fruity supplier/licenced etc) or to make a backup of real roms in a machine in case the machine proms die.
If barcrest has released roms to the public, then cool, where did they release them, and are they going to do it again?
Personally I think barcrest and other firms should release roms for the public, especially older ones, as then it will keep the machines alive longer for collectors, which is always a good thing for a company to have (a user base of dedicated collectors, as it brings a lot of publicity to the company).
Plus if updates to machines were made available to all, it would stop the country being filled with bug filled machines that are littering kebab shops, takeaways, smaller pubs, arcades etc that own their own machines, and dont have access to a BBS to download the updates. Surely no company actually wants any of its machines to be out there with a old software revision? Would have thought it was in there interest to make sure as many people as possible have access to the latest version, as a buggy machine reflects badly not on the company that has it, but on the fruit machine company that made it........

The only company that have said "here are some roms for emulation" is Empire. Union said they did not mind but as far as I know they never actually supplied any roms for the layouts, they all ended up coming via me again lol
Barcrest, Maygay, JPM, Bell Fruit and the rest have all supplied roms for emulation at some point but it was without them knowing that it was not for a real machine
