You spotted it - lol
To be fair. I guess at one time these must have served a purpose before FME...but the percentages spoiled it for me. What is the point of win after win after win? Never could quite work it out. I got bored within a week.
I remember an old Spectrum Sim...Can't remember what it was called now but it used to pay JP every third or fourth spin. Now THAT was ripping the pish...lol

I'm surprised that none of these 'sim' creators have not thought about releasing some sort of program in which the paying punter can shove his own graphics/features/music ect into it.
Like MFME but simulator instead of emulator. Then you could make a sim of any machine you can think of.
Obviously, you wouldn't load a rom into it but if there was a page/screen where things can be ticked/un-ticked ect..., to add them to the game, and variables that adjust things like payouts/reel speeds/prizes/stakes/winlines ect...
I know it will fly in the face of those who make a few quid on seperate simulator releases but I'd be more inclined to shove a tenner or so in the direction of someone who came up with such an idea. And the creator, he could continue to coin it in with better versions of the base software at reasonable intervals that add more advanced features/effects.
Hmmm. That could lead to a simulator scene with user input. Just like our currently stagnent emulator scene. But hopefully not stagnent.

The last one I did allowed you to use your own sims and sound, as well as create your own reels and stuff - It was very innovative but had a few minor issues - it was the parti time one I did. If you check out the configurator and skins you will see what I mean. And it was free. I am actually working on several programming projects with ERP/CRM/scheduling systems at the moment, however my coding now is pretty darn good (100 times better than before) and I now do it in .NET as opposed to VB6, although have done some in C as well. I am half way through a Fruit Simulation creator that is a lot more encompassing than the one I gave away before and am hoping to release at the end of January if all goes well (for free obviously)... It has fluid smooth scrolling wheels, shading and lamping with masks. As well as a sound and graphics support system. You will basically be able to create any game and it's 100 times better than anything else I have done.. Unfortunately it's a little on hold for xmas and other projects at the moment. I will post a WIP screenshot just after xmas though. AND AS LIKE ALL OF MY STUFF, THIS WILL BE 100% FREE. It will not be released until bug free though.

I brought the set of four fruities off of this site years ago, before coming across FME.
They really were entertaining and the graphics and sounds from them were excellent for a simulation.

Gaz i think the one you are on about might have been called Cash Bash- it had a crappy bit of "digitised" speech in it and was a wicked payer lol
there was also another one on the speccy called fruit 2000 - a supposed "advanced" fruit machine simulator

It was indeed Cash Bash. I remember it well now that you've mentioned it Cashbox. Cheers for that wee jog of the memory and cheers Todd for the info. One of these days I'll get around to downloading the Speccy Emulator.
P.S: If he'd held the "2" on Cash Bash he would have got feature....lol

I play this regularly on my speccy emulator - there are about 5 classics on there that I still play - And far better than any simulations I have seen since. I really mean that - CashBash is fantastic!!
