download the latest version of MFME (10.1) and also 3.2 from Cliffs Repro (links on the left of this page log in as guest). They will load most of the layouts for you. Then just select open and choose the file from where you loaded it. BFMulator was an old emulator that worked with a select few titles as was JPEMU, the most up to date is MFME.

make yourself a directory and copy the fruit machine rom folders into it.
load up the mfme emulator (higher i would assume is better, although there are specific games that require specific version numbers to run) and goto game manager. select broswe to find that directroy with all your roms in, and then scan. the game files will now appear in the window for you to double click and play.
if you cant make head or tail of that, try reading the tutorials on the left hand side of the main page. if you still have problems, pack your pc back in the box and demand your money back.

As Dazza said update the sound card with the AC 97 drivers
It's a common problem do a search in the threads and it will tell you where to get them.

If you are running the BFM emulator then you can only play the games in the BFM folder.
Run the emulator then "drag and drop" the zip file into the open window of the emulator - the file will auto-unzip and run.
If you wish to play any of the new machines that appear in NEW RELEASES then you will need MFME 10.1a (get it from CLIFFS REPRO)
These games need to be unzipped to play.
Read the tutorials (link on left) and it explains how to play all games in all the emulators.
It's simple once you get the hang of it...........
