I have just bought an Acer Aspire 5720 and have run a few games (Action Pack) and they work fine execpt the sound is not right. It just makes a few beeps. It works fine on my normal PC.

Acer's, I f*****g hate em!

Right, normal solution to this would be to upgrade your sound driver. I have just checked Acer's site (http://support.acer-...k/as_5720.html), and it appears you have a Realtek High Def Chip. There was a new driver that got released for this on xmas day. Link here for this: Realtek

Thanks for your help I have managed to install these drivers but the same still happens :bigeyes18: The sound works fine on CD music and other applications but not on any MFME. I can't think of anything else other than it's something to do with VISTA. Is Vista compatible with MFME sound?

I too have sound trouble with Windows Vista, but only in MFME2 & MFME3.

when I play in v9.4 and 10.1 my sounds are great.

I also have trouble playing my music, and I have noticed that my speakers are nearly turned right to the the full mark, yet on Windows XP they were only a quarter of the way turned.

My sound volume on the PC itself is set to full as well.

I have my own Sound Card in, and it is still the same sounds with the built-in sound card as well. Not very good sounds with Windows Vista at all.

I think this must be the case :bigeyes18:. It must be a vista problem. I think the older MPU4 machines are the problem. I have had sucess with ten out of ten and peep show.
