Your thread wasnt deleted it was moved.

You come on here saying that you can get all the latest ROM's for the latest Barcrest,BFM machines..sure your input is much appreciated but FME is about preserving machines from the past as you can see on the homepage not the present or future.

Understand this..most big fruit machine companies support the FME scene to a certain extent..but if they give an inch and you take a mile..they might think..here..wait a min wtf ?? they are emulating the machines that we only put out last week ?

Get my drift ?

Thank you for your reply and I would like to firstly apologise for not posting in the correct forum and not finding it once it was moved.

I understand your point and I must again apologise as im so new to this.

I would not want to cause any problems for the site nor the manufacturers. The roms I have are not only the latest ones but also go back a long time too including re-chip programs.

Any help in making these programs playable would be appreciated.

Sorry for my ignorance ..

Hi 1234aab, The older roms would be fine...I think as longs as the roms are from a machine that has been out for at least three years then there would be no problem in Emulating them, maybe you could tell us what some of the roms are from and then if it's ok someone could do a Classic or a DX if there is a flyer to match the roms, Even I would be happy to have a go at some of these roms you have, But Im not sure how you loadup the roms to this site maybe someone eles can help you on that one. okies

Not really any need to apologise..as Kriss said older type ROM's are fine to use you didnt post in the wrong forum.

When you said new i thought you meant new new.

Im sure the ROM's will come in useful though check the downloads section in the MPU5 and Scorp4 section.

Thanks for your input.

Just a bit of a future tip for you bud..... whilst not an offical rule as such, we have a "Gentlemans Agreement" with the manus that we do not touch anything which is less than THREE YEARS OLD from release.

Bear this in mind when you post new roms, and you should be fine.

Also anything from empire or electrocoin is a no-no.

Empire because we broke the 'gentlemans' agreement with them before.

And electrocoin are heavily into protecting whats theirs and you'd have lawyers letters within days if you posted them.

However, have you got any Proconn, M1A, M1B, MPU3, MPU4, SRu, Castle, scorpion 1/2, mps2, system 1, system 5, or Impact roms?

Exactly what i was thinking. The "three year rule" only seemed to appear when the MPU5 emulator 'didn't exist'...

This Three Year Rule has been argued many times before, but as I have already stated, this is NOT a rule as such, but more of a GENTLEMANS AGREEMENT the FME scene has with the manus, and proof of this was with what we had with Empire (The only manu to FULLY and PUBLICALY support FME), and themselves pulling out when a few layouts went AGAINST this gentlemans agreement, though now Empire again seams to be supporting FME once again.

Spot on that man.

I dont know what went on "behind the scenes" as regards to said Empire..but thats the way i see it.

The self centred few on the scene once again spoilt it for the genuine masses.

Empire did support the scene once. Actually permitting the scene to make games for the emulator. Empire even posted these 'permitted' roms on their site for us to take. And they even contributed post-wise at FF. It was a most generous offer. The only manufacturer that courted the scene officially. I believe it was a 2 way relationship though as I believe Empire used the emulator to test their new games, saving them making the games before knowing if they were good or bad. I'm not aware of any manufacturers supporting the scene. But I'm not surprised after the Empire fiasco. Lets just say they silently tolerate us to some extent and although our scene is volatile, we don't often give them reason to be concerned. But I'm sure they will do whatever they need to do to stop us if we really do overstep the proverbial line.

Then like all good things, that relationship was destroyed by one or two self centred members. The term 'Inner Circle' was pretty apt here and raised it's head for all to see, starting quite a great deal of the mistrust we have on the scene today. One or two members had got hold of some (later) Empire roms not on the permitted list and made private layouts and passed them around behind the scenes. They were never 'public' but I'm sure these layouts were used to 'barter' for other non-public wares, like other manufacturers layouts that were not public because they were less than 3 years old. So inner circle refers to a group of individuals that 'had' stuff others didn't and used this to benefit themselves or influence things. There are some people still active on the scene who participated and are indeed capable of such things.

In short, the said layouts were passed on between friends, and eventually into the hands of those seeking fairness transparency, or those who just had a grudge of those who dabbled in such deals. Once these forbidden layouts came out into the public area, it was the end of Empire's courtship with us. And I'm sure they are not stupid enough to trust us again and risk a similar embarassment.

I'm sure I will be corrected if I'm not totally accurate with the said events.

Thanks for the confirmation, guess I'll just have to release the older machine externally, or just the layout and let people 'find' the roms.
