How does the coin mech work ? I am asking this after playing it all day with no problems what so ever. Next morning i put machine on,I insert pound coins. 2 go in. then rejects every one after ? I give it a quick wipe and get it working again. now i have noticed the coin mech works better when its been on for a long while ? why ? When i was refilling it earlier i could shove loads in very quickly and it was working a treat. the odd one still slips through tho. So what does coin mech do ? does it weigh the pound ? Or read it ? It must detect a fake pound . And then theres a coin that wont go in till you inserted it 10 + times lol. WHY ? look forward to answers. sez . p.s i have mars coin mech i believe ?

the coin mech is calibrated to measure the metal content of every coin it has to accept.

the coin mech has a window of varience as some coins can be slightly different than others(damaged)

some coin mechs can be a bit choosy with coins that are a bit cold so that would explain why when you first switch the machine on the mech can reject quite a few coins but gets better the longer the machine is on.

also for some reason(and this is true!!!)some coin mech accept coins better when the coin has the queens head facing the right.this has had us sstumped for years but there must be a reason for it.

I had a Nova Pocket Money SWP that used to accept fake £1 coins made from lead. Whenever I got one I would just stick it in the hopper to be paid out again!
1 lead coin went round the pub for about 3 months!

hey baz, Are you about still ? Right as you know i have c&r club machine. I got my dill settings up, And noticed the cashpots are on fixed. I want them on the normal setting. I know how to do this. But where these switches are,Its a nightmare geting to them properly. I have to crouch down,Shining a torch through a little slot lol. (where test switch is) For starters the reels are in way to get to this properly. I did (well my dad did) try to open the cover. But every spanner was to big. You need a really tiny spanner to get this open. I was wondering if you have any trade secrets on geting to these switches. Or any bright ideas ? I could stick a long stick in and try to hit switch lol. But knowing me hit the wrong ones. look forward to your reply mate. sez x

hello

best thing to do is if you can get the black cover off (a pair of pliers is best) just leave the cover off so you can get the switches and test button really easily.
the test button is beside the switches(its a green button) the other button beside it is the reset button where just switches your machine off/on without unplugging it.

also take the cover off when the machine is switched off just incase you short any electronics but once you have the cover off you dont need to put it back on again.
