Why is it going to be called Windows 7?

The Windows I know that have been released are:

1. Windows 3.1
2. Windows 95 & Windows 95+
3. Windows 98 & Windows 98 SE
4. Windows NT
5. Windows 2000
6. Windows Millennium
7. Windows XP (Home, Professional & Media)
8. Windows Server 2003
9. Windows Vista (Basic, Home Premium, Business & Ultimate)
(Windows Longhorn wasn't officially released by Microsoft, even though it is quite readily available ;))

Surely it should be Windows 10?

Still. Microsoft knows best! ;)

More Windows than Buckingham Palace has got! ;)

Well, a lot more Windows variations than I originally thought.

(That's better ;))

The reason why vista's six an the new one is seven is to do with the kernels.

Plus microsoft can do what they want anyway!Thats just how it is.

I have already said bye to vista.
What a load of crap, still has compatability issues with a lot of progs.
Maybe i will have another try after the service pack is out.
You cant beat xp even though that was crap for a couple of years.
Vista will probably be the same in a year or so.
