Hello to all,
I have had this cluedo machine for a few years The other week we moved house and when I pluged it back in it would not start up and all the LED's L1-L7 are all lit up I have never had the instruction book so all I would like to know is, is it terminal? If anyone can help I would really gratefull my little lad is driving me nuts asking when it will be fixed.
Cheers

are you sure that nothing has become loose or unseated in your move? try checking that all the programe cards are firmly pushed into the mpu at the rear of the machine and check all plug connections.

I have checked all the conections I can not see any damage and all the conectors seemed secure it still won't start up but it is humming now when power is on.
Thanks anyway.

Check the battery on the motherboard for leakage. If its a blue one then replace it with a new green one (blue is ni-cad, green is ni-mh) preferably fly-lead'ed off the board. Its preferable to do this even if it hasn't leaked.
If it has leaked then this could be causing the problems. The way maygay M1A/B/C works is that all those LED's come on, the processor boots specific parts of the machine (engineers can tell you exactly what if you want to know)and checks to see if it worked ok. If it does it then triggers the +12v relay and the machine powers up, beginning with the initialise/test. If it doesn't then all those LED's stay on. Somewhere around I have uploaded the cludeo manual which will tell you what the LED's stand for, but they don't mean anything before the 12v has triggered.
Check all the connections, roms plugged into game card etc, check the battery. If they all check out then its a psu fault, but the battery is definately worth checking on these as they are very prone to damage from leaking. I have a collection of 9 of those boards with leak damage.
The LED's go out when their specific device is working ok. But until the 12v kicks in they show as not working, because the 12v isn't present to show the devices are ok.
If you want to know anything else just ask, I have one of these myself. I will try and dig up that manual for you.

Thanks for the reply's, still no joy I have put a new battery on but it still will not work. I borrowed a power supply that I know to be good and still nothing and put mine into the other machine and it worked. Everything looks the same if not better than the Eastenders machine I borrowed the power supply from.
Cheers anyway.

Have you tried replacing the M1a board? as if the power supply is faulty then the chances are that its the board.

HI there guitar,
I just bought a gladiators 1994 machine :-) which was working at the sellers house. Moved it and now when i power it up i get what looks like all lights flash on the main M1A maygay board (except +12v?) and then L9 (-12v) light stays on & nothing happens :-(.
Has you got any ideas / manuals / tips please? I tried pushing in every connector on the planet and i know the battery is recently renewed so doubt it is that.
Thanks in advance
Bob
