Yeah I've heard about that. Stupid.. Mind you, it's not that much different here.

IT doesnt really affect me much here mind, what with living in the farms and rural areas. And when I get back there it will be pretty much the same, miles of nothingness..

Funny thing here being that most townships have like ONE cop. LMAO. So Im sure he has more to do than follow up reports of a corn farmer smoking his pipe.. They're usually all out handing out bogus tickets to knob people and make money for the twp lol.

Whilst I do understand the anti smoking laws I still think that there needs to be something to keep the population down. I mean it's cool that the whole world seems to have gone health mad (and I do feel better when eating good foods as opposed to shit) but FFS if we all ended up living til we're over a hundred then the world's going to be in a sorry state.

I smoke Mayfair Menthol, although my problem is a don't smoke enough these days what with the ban and all :)

Remember the days when you could smoke anywhere = Great days, I miss them alot :)

I certainly never intend to give up. I'm pretty fit for my age, and seen to many people die (young & old) who never smoked in their lives.

Now though, I have to go out to the back to have a smoke - The Wife

My views on the smoking ban can be found in another thread Andy.

Seeing as how the Government have stopped me smoking indoors when I go out for an evening I have switched to let's say "imported tobacco"....lol. I used to be an upstanding citizen and buy and pay my taxes but let's just say since the ban was imposed on Scotland I have found an alternative source. £5.50 for a 50g pack of Golden Virginia. (compared to £11.90 in my local shop) and £2.40 for a pack of 20 Regal.

If I can't smoke where I like, when I like without breaking any laws then I refuse HM Government their right to tax me.

Get it up you Customs & Excise. :bigeyes04:

I think sometimes it depends where you live in the UK....They charge less in Wales to buy per pack but up in Scotland it's slightly more expensive. I'm lucky 'cos I know a friend of a friend who will sell it cheaper to me buying it in bulk rather than just buying a couple of packs at a time.

Guess it just depends on who you know, how much you are buying and where you live. :)

Well I was wrong. I am paying the $3.8something for 40G which is less than 2 oz.

There are 28gs in an oz.

That cheered me up, because I used to smoke 1/2oz a day (the cutters choice) which is 14g and I now smoke 40g over 3 days, so less.

I smoke Samson Milde Shag (lol) here, it's basically exactly the same as Cutter's choice (a lovely mild tobacco).

I hear you Gaz. I mean cigs are like petrol, it's basically the governments way to get you over a barrel and then f*** your arse raw. They do it with alcohol and anything else that you have to have too, so finding a 'mate' who will get it cheap for you is something I did back home (used to get samson in blue 2oz for 3 quid from france).

Anyone here in the isle of wight? what are taxes and cig prices like there?

Ill only be 20 mins accross the water from there when I get back :)
