GREAT STUFF!!! This has come just in time for my new XP2400 system - now all I need is the Impulse ROM/Layout, and my Christmas is made!
Maybe this could also open the floodgates for machines like Cash Buster, Force 10, Hagar, Popeye (x2), etc - and wasn't there another one which was based on 'picks' (circa mid-late 1997)?

Dont get too excited PJ, Hagar, Popeye etc use a different tech not Impact. Possible for Cash Buster and Force 10 I believe.
The best thing about this release, is the implementation of the reel belt, which looks stunning on the released Maximum Overdrive machine, not yet added here, but over at www.poundrun.org/forums. Probably will be here by the time you read this

What about the compatibility issues that came with 1.45 and 1.46 - have they been resolved with 2.41, ie, can ROMs for both versions be loaded into 2.41?
Also, can you please get rid of these bloody snowflakes, my 450MHz keeps freezing up every time I visit this site... :sneaky:

You can run 1.46 layouts and above in version 2.41. The 1.45 layouts will not be able to be loaded into the current version as they were encrypted. The emu author did hint they he may unencrypt these 1.45 layouts after checking with the original authors.

I'll have my new 2400XP system running by then, so those little rabbits can screw each other senseless and leave little green pellet-poos all over the screen for all I care, I'll have a gig and a half of PC133 to deal with it
BTW, duplu, you're in Dartford, I'm in Gravesend - how about a meet sometime...

I thought about the short-link PJ but I thought that ziggy seeing the homepage may give him a better understanding of what directx is.

your welcome ziggy hope they helped you.....If you are upgrading to XP I would suggest that you ensure that your firewall is up-to-date...It is a very good OS but has a few bleeps in it so it's also a very good idea to get the million security patches that have been released.

Sorry to publicise a private message like this, and I haven't had time to read if it's against Fruit-Emu rules, but for some reason, I can't reply privately and I really need to get this point across:-
Erm...firstly, why is it "funny" that I reply to the Interesting Read?
Secondly, I'm certainly NOT trying to '[i]out-do' anyone! All I was doing was making it faster for ziggy to get DX9 on his computer via a direct link to the download file, without him having to negotiate the maze of webpages which I have come to expect from the MS website, as I assume not everyone is a whiz with computers - and ziggy didn't even know what DirectX is!
Finally, adydb - lighten up a bit, mate...
out-do the next-person[/i">but to help....................see where i'm coming from?

You can find out what version direct x you are running by clicking START/RUN then type in dxdiag and click OK.
It also can run tests on your vid/sound cards too.
