Hi All

The FE user that was going to donate a HDD has found on testing that that there is a problem with the drive so now I dont have a new drive to put in the PC. and although some people have donated I dont have enough to get a new Drive yet, If any one would like to still donate Please PM with for the paypal or my home address if you dont have access to paypal.

So what am i going to do in light of above i have decided that i am going to bring back the repro ASAP on the current drive i have run a full scan disk on the unit and it seems ok now, I will set up the software again and will add all of the users who have sent me PM's with there log in name password and e-mail address. I will then advise in this thread when this has been done and the repro is back up. Any one who had a full account please PM with your log on name password and e-mail address you want to use so i can recreate your account. I will look at replaceing the drive after I get paid this month.

Once again sorry for the downtime

Regards

Hi

The Repro is now back i have tested the server and all seems well guest access to the EMU's only is ok and I have tested a with my dummy user account and all is well.

All User accounts have been lost so if you had a user account for full access to the repro before the problems please PM your login name password and e-mail addy and I will re-add you.

If you had sent an e-mail to any of the main fruity emu sites I have added your account as requested so you should have access if not pm me and i will check to see why.

And finaly we still need a new HDD for the server so if you would like to donate (big thanks to those of you who have allready donated) please PM and i will give you my paypal e-mail or my snail mail addy incase you dont have paypal

Come on guys, just bumping this a little.....Can you appriciate what time Cliff puts into the repro (alas Duplu with Fruit-Emu).....

Dump a mere Quid, have you used it to create an Emu or whatever?, cheap at half the price (noooo don't send Ten Bob!)....this isn't selling it's just saying a Thanks to those that give us the means of a central base for all thats needed and actually supporting the equipment needed to do it.

Dunno if this helps: Bigpockets are doing some clearout bargains at the mo: BigPockets.co.uk: Western Digital WD800 80Gb IDE Hard Drive (Ideal for build your own PVR) £12.99 - Blank Media - Gadgets - Ink Cartridges - Free Delivery 80 Gig WD IDE Hard Drives for £13 a chuck + delivery. Just a thought as I had the info on an email newsletter. Might not be big enough but at the price, thought I might as well suggest it. Granted only 3 month RTB warranty as it is bankrupt clearance stock, but it might be covered by WD for longer. Gonna grab a couple for myself and stuff in caddies.

Hi

Thanks to some very generous donations the HDD fund is now doing very well indeed and i should soon be able to order a new drive to replace the current drive C (possibly bigger than teh 80 GB i have in there now) i am going to norton ghost the HDD so i am hoping to keep down time down to a minimum when this is fitted. However if anyone wants to still donate Please PM me for the Paypal e-mail or my snail mail addy if you dont have paypal.

Also if you have previously had a full access account please PM with your details log in/password/e-mail addy and i will recreate your account.

Cliff i have found a 160gb hdd that i had in storage in my house.
its a seagate barracuda ultra ata, ide interface.
It was taken from a sky+ TV box.
It has been formated & i had it in my pc for a while, but i took it out because it was very slow at recording with nero.
If you want it i can send.

Hi

Thanks to the kind donaters you know who you are i got 57 pounds so i have decided to replace the 80gb hdd with a nice new western digital 250GB jobby from kikatech for 44.47 inc VAT and delivery, this has been ordered the balance will be used to pay for the s/w licence if any one still wants to donate please PM me and I will send you the info.

I would also like to thank richie who has offerd a 160GB hdd i have asked him if I can still have this as a spair or to use as an external unit.

And finaly I would like to thank Duplu who had offerd to dontate the differance if i had not got enough donations.

Its nice to know that what i do is appreciated and i will keep the repro going

Once the drive arrrives the plan is to ghost the old C drive so i can just copy the image back on thus keeping downtime to a minimum.

Hi

Please can i just remind every one the repro is back the guest log on is there as is full log on for full users. Howerver when the sever went tits up I lost the user list and i could not re-import the backup one for some reason, so If you had a full account please can you send me a PM so that i can reinstate your full account. in this PM you will need to put your username the password you had or the one you want if you cannot remember the one you had and your e-mail address.

There has also been one other change to the server that will affect you if you are doing muli downloads with a download manager you can no longer download without logging on, this was done to prevent people just grabbing all the files from the server. If you D/l manager allows you to put in a log on and password you should still beable to use it if not you wont. The option to resume downloads has been left active.

Finaly we have a new drive and thanks to a Fruit Emu user we aslo have back up drive of 160GB, However i would like to get a licence for the software so donations are still being accepted if you would like to help in this way please PM me for the paypal e-mail or the post address if you dont have PP.

Thanks

HI

I have Collected the 2 drives from the delivery office and have put the donated 160gb in to replace the C drive which was also starting to give problems, I am now performing the norton ghost image of the current c drive to this drive as soon as this is completed i will then put the drive bought by the kind donatons in the system and then put the ghost image back onto the new C drive.

Also there was 17 pounds left after i got the drive and i was able to get a UPS for the server and this has been added also now.

Should have it back up later today or some time tomorrow will advise when its back.
