As I suggested, I had a buy up.....I really cannot suss the setting up though....

I have done the simple task of connecting the HDD led and the On/Off switch....its what I have left in the Pic with my dirty thumb thats puzzled me.

It appears the 'dummy' don't match the board etc, and i'm left holding these wires!

Tried reading the PDF but Jesus its fathomed me!.....I can trial and error but I don't want to blow anything....

If anyone can help i'll be really grateful.

Attached is a couple of Pics and the board manual...in the zip

If someone could do an idiot guide I will gladly pay for your time.

Thanks for any help :)

what you have there is the Front Panel USB connectors and the Front Panel Audio Connectors.

The USB Connectors go in the USB Header on the Mainboard in this order:
Red, Yellow, Green then Black (They Should Be Together).

The USB header should look something like this:
. . . .
. . . . .

so say

1 2 3 4
1 2 3 4 5

all you need to do is plug the RED WIRE IN 1, YELLOW IN 2, GREEN IN 3 and BLACK IN 4.

Repeat for the other wire. Number 5 is normally left empty.

make sure you keep the wiress together or you will blow your board.

AUDIO CONNECTOR:

The AUDIO thing you have, is to connect the front panel headphone & microphone ports to the onboard audio on the mainboard.

The audio plug should go straight on the the Audio Header on the board. (If there is any jumpers in them just take them out. It's ok if you are going to use a connector). (the hole where there is no wire will match the connector on the mainboard that has no pin on it)

if you are still having problems, just post here and i'll try and help you sort them.

Ady you dont say if you are using a new case or not mate- i have had ASRock boards in the past, good stable boards, but some of the connections can be a b@@@@@@d. i had to "make" some of the connectors using bits of old wiring. some of the newer custom cases put their own pile of crap in just to add to the confusion lol. think you might have to do a bit of a botch job if they really dont fit- the manual seems quite straightforward, but you do have to be spot on if you are modifying connectors- if you follow the wiring diags in the manual, you cant go wrong- if you are still stuck, pm me an email addy and ill see what i can do ;)

Einstein`s theory of FME 90 downloads = 3 thanks

Bloody hell lol that has to be One of the worst threads I have read in ages with the spelling......

Just so you know I had just lobbed the board etc in the case (whats shown is the standard 3 watt PSU!) and I intend to put my 'bits' from my 'old' PC (PSU (550 watt) DVD RW etc) in it after it boots.

My old PC is more tidy than the ashtray in my car lol, whereas so will this One be...

Gent's I re-read this with a clear head this afternoon, I don't think i'll risk blowing a couple of hundred quids worth and i'll pop in the shop that sold it all on Tuesday....

Thanks though for all the help here and as said in future should I have had problems.

Appriciated, and sorry to waste your time posting and sussing it for me.

Thanks for all your advice guy's....

I had to alter One wire, I took the bus to the shop to see if they would give it the Once-over while I popped to the bank.........got back he said all done there was just the + and - I ended up with the wrong way around.

As I was happy I said "how much" he said "nothing"...so I thought a Fiver for his lunch and my peace of mind was a bargain....anyway a 30 min bus ride home confident to boot....

Nothing lol, the message "no signal"....I though nooooo not another hour, knocked my neighbour up (no pun!) and borrowed their car....so I chucked a Fiver fuel in...got to the shop it was fine lol...weird....!

Anyway all up 'n running with no blown gaskets and a tenner and 2 hours wasted :)

Cheers again
