FW.......
Why not explain to me the way in which you would go about designing a layout for the 1024 resolution.....
As you have so many inciteful comments as to what could be or should be....
I am always eager to learn any new techniques.

Cyberpunk:- alienated loner who lives on the edge of society in generally dystopic future where daily life is impacted by rapid technological change, an ubiquitous datasphere of computerized information, and invasive modification of the human body.....Hmmmmm

Criticism will only improve the way things work.....unless it's just from one person

Only £500 jackpot on Little Devils which I got waiting for a Rainbow Riches (£70) feature to end. Then I got £210 on the feature on Rainbow Riches. My mrs was happy that day!

Eh? What "techniques"? Just make them a sensible size. It's not rocket science.

My posts don't cause trouble, people's hysterical over-reactions to them do. All I've done is draw attention to the facts that (a) the vast majority of people don't want 1280s, and ( there is no demonstrable need for ANY layout to be 1280 in order for it to be legible. I don't see why that's so controversial.

We should all be grateful regardless of size, colour, shape or whatever. The only people that really dont benifit from the bigger res's are the laptop brigade, for which i am a member of at the moment. But even still, you dont hear me complaining.

he's right in this case tho
by poll results 1024 wins
Whilst there is always an option for both I think a bit of resizing doesn't go amiss whatever the size.
the plain fact is there is a need for multiple sizes due to hardware constraints. a tft monitor @ 1024x768 for example.
On the other hand, in my case, my desktop is 1280x1024 but can goto 1600 res. The bigger the DX the better for me. Dual monitor support or scrolling capabilities of the FME form that shows the graphics would rock.
Ideally I would like to see the emulator show the machine in 3 ways.
1. Starts the machine as it does now.
2. UP Cursor moves view to Top section of machine
3. DOWN cursor moves view to Bottom section of machine
It would be possible to switch easily between all 3 views. Where applicable it would also be possible to auto-switch between the views based on a feature becoming active.

It is unless you're an arrogant tosser who doesn't care if the community dies through lack of interest from people who are being excluded by most releases being created NEEDLESSLY for only a tiny elite.

that's aload of rubbish, I take it you read?
10,000 members the last time I looked.
Anyways, as for layouts.
I make them from roms that I have to look for, flyers and or photos I have to look for and lots and lots of hard work.
The fact I even made one in the first place was down to there being a awful lineup out there, so decided I could do better.
That was my choice, as it was my choice to then go to the trouble (and expense through bandwidth) to share them.
I no longer bother, but that's ALSO up to me, as was making them at the resolution that fits MY monitor.
And as for arrogance, Ive never ever in all my years EVER met anyone as arrogant as you, Stuart

do we really need all this argueing, as long as myself and fruitymad2003 are making layouts you will get the smaller size so why turn this into an all out res war. lets just agree that some people like 1024 and some people like 1280 and leave it at that.

Most layouts are made in 1024 & 1280 to cater for all needs anyway.
I dont think anyone is being an arrogant tosser about it fw.

can you stop being an eliteist and make it playable for me please?
I take it youll do it at once.
I cant play it, I demand you do something about it you tosser.
Us 800x600 folk shouldnt have to suffer because of selfish people like you

Yawn. If you're going to be an arsehole, at least make an arsehole point that some arsehole didn't already make. Bored now.

but hang on, the layout you made DOESNT work on my 800x600 laptop screen, all because you made it at 1152.
come on then. practice what you preach and make it fit

Yawn. Go read the answer I gave the last idiot.
Glad you're admitting that you don't give a shit about the community, though.

I have several "Super" Dx's in My collection and i would presume that being such an arrogant little tosser you would relish the thought of being able to rerelease these "super" dx's for the elitist market.....

Are you talking to me? Because I DO care about the whole community rather than my ego, so any work I do is unlocked and free to be modified by anyone for any purpose. If you want to put in long hours of tedious effort resizing existing layouts into overblown bloatware for the sole benefit of a tiny handful of elitist ****, more fool you, but be my guest.
