Look lets bring this to a close shall we?

A high percentage of people cannot use the higher res layouts that is well established, however the people that make these layouts do so out of their own time and do it for fun and pride. Now Most layout designers feel that their layouts look better at the higher res so they are obviously going to do the best job they can as they want it to look good and as it is them who are doing it, it is up to them what res they do it at!

Fruitymad2003 and hurtand165 are doing an excellent job re-sizing the few layouts that are 1280 only so if a layout is released that is 1280 and you are desperate to play then pm these gents and im sure they will be more than happy to deal with your request.

Ok, so what you are saying is that because you left it unlocked and it is free to be modified by anyone, that you can be excused for not making it for me to play on my laptop?
Hey, that's fine, but do me a favour, go look at a few of the layouts I made over the past 6 months.

It's a knockout, Simpsons, Fruit explosion, lineup.

Theyre *ALL* totally unlocked, and in the case of lineup I actually went the extra 9 yards and uploaded not only the hand drawn glass panels so that someone may do a DX to their taste, but also the reelbands.
I tell you what, put down that toilet paper Ill wipe your bum whilst I'm there.

If you want to put in long hours of tedious effort resizing existing layouts into overblown bloatware for the sole benefit of a tiny handful of elitist

Hey, if you want to put in countless hours in DOWNsizing my layouts so that they fit on YOUR screen then be my guest.

Afterall, seeing as the one right thing youve said all day has been that these take countless hours to make, why the hell should I make them to cater to YOU?
I do what's right for me and what I want, then I take some extra time to help others convert them.
In all the time I have been going to this extra effort I have not ONCE seen any of my layouts downscaled to fit on a 1024 res desktop.

Let's get down to brass tacks.

The bottom line is that you cant play these layouts because your monitor isnt up to it.
So, instead of going out and buying one you instead want to go on and on and on and on about trying to FORCE people to give into you and what you want.

Personally I know youre wasting your time and your breath, and instead of getting all annoyed and sweart over it you should just pay a visit to PC world instead of winding people up.

I have too say that 1280 in some cases could be done @ 1024. Thats without losing quality.

1280/1024 is the width so the 768/9?? is the height.

If you was to take Alphabet (as it was used earlier in the thread) and cut the top off (Where the coin slot is) you would probably be very close to 768 height.

Its got to be better losing the top of the machine than to lose the holds and part of the reels.

can somebody put a lock on this post please, i am sick of the arguement. it does not seem to be going anywhere constructive, and is now resorting to petty name calling and personal insults.

i always thought this forum was the more family based clean one of the three, but now it seems to be degenerating into a free for all where pandy and nicky special seem to want to just argue about a point that has been made already.

is this really why people play these games, just to argue? i certainly don't and the majority of the people on the site also don't. i come here because i like fruit machines, and that is all.

I'm pretty grown-Up and in the company of my mates in a pub it's considered OK to swear and lark around...But that's only if it's that kind of pub....

This isn't being boring it's called considerate FW.............That's a good point too---why do you think everybody refers to you as FW????.....Any ideas?

Hey. Did you know that less than a quarter of DVD player owners have a television suitably equipped to show a DVD movie in it's true 'Widescreen' format? You can use menu's in your player to cater for standard 4/3 TV's but you get such a small picture switching to letterbox mode (usually losing the top and bottom third of the screen), that watching DVD's on a standard TV is totally useless unless you sit right in front of the TV.

1 I propose that we lobby all movie companies demanding that they drop the 'widescreen' format altogether, replacing their films with a standard 4/3 picture ratio on all movies.

2 I propose that until our wishes are granted, we should bad-mouth those movie companies using such words as 'elitist' , 'selfish' and 'stupid', at each and every opportunity.

3 I propose that a law is passed that allows violent demonstrations in our cities, until Aamon Holmes is forcibly removed from TV altogether.

That would certainly be a valid course of action IF they all put all the speaking characters at the outside edges of the screen where most viewers couldn't see them. Luckily, because they're not completely stupid, most of the action still takes place in the middle of the screen where everyone can see it regardless of telly size. Rather like my layout which is 1152, but has the "extra" space occupied by non-vital stuff so that it's still accessible to everyone. See what I did there?

As for the free for all, its called freedom of speach, and yeah, the points have been made already, but when stuart thought he was going to end the stupidity he just dragged it all up again.

Therefore, promoting it to kids is rather irresponsible.
