I've enjoyed my time here but have now decided to close my account - thanks for all the machines and stuff over time. I have also find a lot of you to be very nice so good luck to one and all.. Just got a bit sick of this site turning in to an advertising machine is all.

Thing is,it's getting to the point where it's totally taking the piss, akin to like dog shit down an alley way.

Yes, the site has to pay it's bills, but when you start to get ad's like that cyberslottz on we had on the top right on the main page, you begin to see why folks are getting pissed off.

To offer an alternative if it's not already in place, is there any poss way to offer a subscription service, which will entitle the user to at least view the forum with no / minimal ad's..... like is often on a number of forum / torrent sites???

He's not referring to the ads at the side of the pages. Something a little more subliminal.

To be honest the ads on the site don't bring in nearly enough to support the running costs. You can hide the side ads by clicking the green arrow in the top right of the ad block. The only ads you can't hide are the ones at the bottom of the last post of a thread - typically the one that is clicked the most.

What I'm not keen on is the Google ads, which are inserted into someones post. It almost appears as though a person has posted an advert sometimes.

Having said that, I can understand why it's done, the bandwidth cost of this forum must be pretty huge, even now.

Would people be willing to donate more / more frequently to the site, because as far as I can tell, that's the only solution to cutting down / removing the adverts - if people here basically fund the site.

I think it's about time I cleared this one up. The reason James left is obviously because of the free licences given away by Reels of Fun. James saw this as unfair advertising for the sims on the site and hass posted his displeasure for the site in the past.

The fact is that the site owner approached me and offered me the licences free for our members. Whether this was for advertising purposes or any other reason I really don't give a shit. The fact is someone offered something to the site for free and I felt it would be appropriate for our members.

If Reels of Fun sell some more sims because of this then good for them. If they offered me some more licences tomorrow then I would take them again.
