Part of the new gambling statutes - NO awp's in "public, non licensed premises".
No new licenses being permitted and all licenses to expire during 2009.

somebody asked the other day about 30p play £5 jackpot. its possible but you have to have a AGC license.

im guessing it would streak its nuts off though. i had a club psycho i put on 30p £75, it took some £400 before it did a jackpot and then rolled it straight it!

I wonder about these Skill Ball Bingo type machines, I'm not sure which category they fall into, or if they do even.

They are £1 stake and can payout upwards of £50 jackpot. I've seen one of these machines payout over £80 before and also there is no age restriction.

I did hear a rumour that these machines have been removed from some arcades by the council/ gambling commission inspectors. Of course this is just a rumour so may be a load of rubbish:)

With the 30p £5 jackpot I would say these would be treated as a cat 'c' machine.

Depends, if they are classified as "true skill" then they would be classed as an SWP and therefore outside of the remit of the Gambling Commission.

Absolutely.
And next year, after they are banned completely, any AWP's still left in takeaways are going to look a bit obvious...

gambling comission doesnt remove any of the skill games and they dont have power to do it,they can only advise you to remove if the prize is over £40 or they may ask u to take it to the over 18s area, but still u dont have to follow their advise but there is another thing that u dont want to come cross with them :)

so does that mean chip shops, kebab shops wont be able to put fruit machines in the premises??? are they completely going aay for good? if thats the case do u not think arcade shops will get a benefit from it??

Hi

Yes it does mean that and no probly not as alot of the local chippies round here that used to have a AWP have replaced them with a Quiz machine skill so therefore allowed so now you can lose 50p a go insted of 10p or 20p or 30p lol.

Pretty Simple !!

SWP's (Skilled Winning Prize's) -Quiz Machines Ect
& AWP Amusement Winning Prize's (Fruity's)

You Dont Need A Licence For A Quiz Machine Because Its Not Gambeling & As It Is Based On Your Knowloge, & Skill's & Will Not Pay Out More £5
!! This Aint Classed As Gambeling !!

Fruit Machine Have Percentage Key's Ect The Determain The Percentage Of Winning .. Unlike A Skill's Machine Where Its Just on Your Skill . As Its Classed As Gambeling .. Because Weather Your Brainy Or Not .. A Fruit Machine Can Win You Over !

Stupid Laws I Know .. But Hey

Skills WITH prizes and Amusements WITH prizes I think you mean?

Also the jackpot for SWP is not limited to £5.

Haha based on skill my nads. Machines like JPM gameboxes have a payout of about 20-30%. 50p a go, average return about 10p - No I'm all good thanks. Mind you did bag a nice £20 on cluedo when it first appeared at my local social club, the payout was disconnected when I won it but I made sure I got my "knowledge" moneys.
