The RAM will definately run at the same speed as the slowest memory, so you may have some 533, then the next set may be 800mhz. The 800 will run at 533mhz. Not the same as the old days when everything had to match! lol. It might be worth looking around online though for RAM. I can't imagine DELL memory chips are any different to standard DDR-2 chips. Might get some better memory, cheaper, and with lifetime warranty.

Hi there,

If you haven't figured it out already, you will realise that it doesn't have to be Dell memory that you put in. To double check that you are buying the correct stuff have a look over at crucial and use their system scanner to check the defo type.

it will be 533 fitting unmatched memory will make it run at same speed as the slowest i would get 4 sticks of what i linked 2 interlaced dual channel better than pick n mix the ram in that pc should be made by crucial fitting slower ram than ddr2 800 into quad core aint what you want to do
