Hiya People,

I have been looking over the forum and can't seem to find much info on my machine. You all seem a very friendly bunch and I am keen to get involved in this area. I have bought a second hand (obviously) Noels House PartyMachine by Maygay (approx '96) and there are some niggly issues with it. Now I may not know where to look but I have googled the net and can't seem to find any resolutions to my problems.

I think I am pretty technical so prepared to try at least and sort out my issues.

Firstly. Is there much general information about this machine anywhere - I notice that there is a download for a simu for it but thats about all I can find.

Ok heres the issues.

1. The machine seems to be very fussy about the coins it takes, I have cleaned the coin mechanism thoroughly and it seems to now be fine at taking 10p, however it can be several attempts for it to take all other coins (no 50p coins at all though ). It wasn't taking much at first prior to cleaning but even now it does seem to be very temparamental with most currency. It is a MARS ME126 coin mechanism if that is of any help

2. The Cancel button doesnt work at all, not a huge problem but slightly annoying - how easily rectifiable is this ?

I think thats about it really. I have adjusted the payout to 70% as per instructions inside machine, however still seems to payout an awful lot in the few days that I have had it.

Any help is welcomed and I look forward to hopefully becoming a part of your community.

Thanks

Ali

You are sure to get some help, especially given your Ace first post...be patient though as with being Bank Holiday not too many are on tonight.

If you haven't had a reply tonight you sure will by tomorrow when the 'guys in the know' are back at work.

regarding the coin mech...

this mech will probably need calibrating as its quite an old coin mech(especially if you have already cleaned it)

to be honest you are better trying yo win one on ebay as it will be much cheaper than a company charging you for recalibrating.

your cancel button will probably just need a replacement microswitch.
does the button click like all the other buttons or does it feel like there isn't a switch?

The cancel button could be due to the lamp/ microswitch holder having been pushed out of the back of the button by overenthusiastic play - quite common and easy to check.
Mind you the last time I had an inoperative cancel button it was due to a loose wire at the i/o board - much more difficult to trace!

If the switch holder is still firmly in place then the next thing to do is to swap one of the microswitches you know to be working.

Ive already placed a search into my favourites for a new coin mech on ebay. Is there any alternatives to the MARS ME126 ?, i.e I found some called cashflow 126 - are they the same ?

I think it feels like there isn't a switch there, it looks as though the reels need to be moved to get into it - is this a big job, I had a quick attempt earlier, but was worried I may break something. Are the microswitches generic ?

All in all, quite pleased with the machine so far, Appears to be very soundly built, very impressed with the modular sort of design of all the components for something that is 12 yr old.

It also seems to be really quite fun, I won't let my friends loose on it for quite a while though as it seems to always want to payout. I won the Jackpot 4 times today, but then I suppose If I just keep pouring the money back in then its going to want to pay out.

Thanks for the help so far and the welcome to the forums.

First thing I will try - when I figure out how to do it.

Re the percentage payout; is it coming up with any memory reset errors?

I do know how to easily make a 70% key into a 62%, but I have never tried it in a machine so whether it would work or not I don't know!

No idea how to tell that whatsoever ???, All I have done is change the jumpers setting to on, off, off, off, as per the inside labelling.

It would noisily alarm and then say "Error --" (a number) whenever you switched the machine on?

Nothing of note that I know of happens when I switch it on, certainly no loud noises.

With the percentage it can take aprox 1000 plays until it gets to the right level that you have set it to.

I can't have done anywhere near that yet as I only set it last night. I have though just been feeding my coins back into it (eventually), so it will want to payout I guess.

Right, that makes more sense! :)

Does it have the £2 conversion box on it?
