Hopefully the Cd is free and the cost is just to cover fees and postage costs.

Maddog aint a bad lad so I doubt this is a free for all.

All in he's charging £5, trouble is no other FME sites sell cds/dvds like this.

Must admit i'm a bit mythed by this too......only seen it by this thread.

I had a whole back catalogue supplied to me a few weeks back via DADs for.......the postage and replacement disc's, eg the supplier didn't make anything what-so-ever.

-----------

I am a moderator at the fruitytalk site, as it stands I resign from that position and my sig has been altered here until its resolved.....ok me trying to be 'Mr nice'....nope....I just don't want to be connected with making cash from the selling of Emulations.....though I do not know if thats the case anyway (I really cant see CS trying to make).

-----------

Anyway thats my tuppenny's worth.

Ok guys, i dont really know how to start this off, as you obviously have a very low opinion over this.

I didnt do this as a "money making scheme".. i did this as a way of try to boost a bit of Site revenue, (as it isnt free you know) and donations have dried up a little (its a way of saying, donate and you get something back)... I did "honestly" mean to say about the fact these are free to download here, and at fruit forums and indeed at fruitytalk.

The CD's themselves, not only to generate a tiny (if any profit), (to hopefully keep fruitytalk alive), are also Printed and come in a Jewel case, so its also paying for that aswell..

To prove this isnt just some money making scam.. if you noticed on the Homepage, it says VBay[1], That means there is ONE!! item in there, ONE actual CD, not 100 of ONE item, but ONE of ONE item.. therefore, i dont see how this is just a money making con.

I have updated the Listing, to say that the machines on the CD are free of charge to download from Fruit-emu.com, Fruitforums.com, and Of course fruitytalk.com

I shall remove if you still feel this is Out of Order, which i can perfectly understand, however, dont forget, I myself am a layout designer, so i know what i feels like to have your items put on eBay, however as my site (is hopefully), helping the FME scene itself, i thought it wouldnt matter as much.

Again, im really sorry about this incedent, and look forward to a reponse in terms of what you want me to do, and now with me explaining the reasons behind it, whether you a) want me to get rid of the VBay item, or do whatever with it, im not really fussed whatever.

Regards.

Nick

I can see where Nick is coming from. If people would donate the odd fiver then this issue wouldn't even be an issue. It would be a good idea in my opinion Nick to say that while you are quite willing to sell a CD...also, make sure that any visitors to your site are made aware that all the emulators and games are available free to download from various sites. Believe it or not there are a lot of very lazy people out there. Make that clear and I have no probs. I'd rather people were donating to FME than to e-bays profits :)

Yeh, well ive got rid of it now... until people express their opinions now ive said why it was there.

I did think it was too expensive, but no-one has bought one, so it didnt matter hehe.

Im actually giving these things away for free on my site, with certain comps and arcade tourny's... Bally got one, and im waiting to send MUFC and DacJgriffin one.

Yeh i did honestly forget to say that, but as ive said before-hand, i myself get annoyed seeing my work on eBay, where the sellers dont give credit, so i really didnt mean to do it myself.

Thanks for the advice aswell.. :)

I too understand the reasons for doing this, as sites are not cheap to maintain and if you've not got spare income, then you do what you have to.

I know it's not far, as it's others work, but would it have been ok if nick redrew all the layouts and then sold the CD? (probably not) after all, it's the roms that aren't meant to be sold. We don't really have any copyright rules, just a gentlemans agreement.

As for selling, if you search the forums, a number of people have offered this free to anyone who wants it, simply provide a DVD and return envelope, so if someone chooses to pay, thats up to them.

(and no, I don't sell these on ebay) already had 2 warnings, one for selling Playboy videos from Play lol and 1 for selling a pdf of a copyrighted book lol ;)

My main problems with this were:
1: If it included the emulators themselves then its another kick in the plums for the guy/s who programmed them.

2: If the companies who make the fruitys spot FME sites selling these type of cd/dvds will they not get the hump and start looking at getting sites shut down?

*edit* Also a name change for Mr.Pesos is in order, I think NickYerLayouts is more ftting. ;)

That is not a proper FME site, that is a site run by total human shite solely to earn cash.

although i dont agree with selling the emus to make money,it still makes me laugh that people will slate this activity but still ask or leech pc software, films or music for free.
