Ok, I downloaded and installed v2.2 a while ago, but couldn't work out how to get the fruit machine roms working so I deleted the folder ONLY.

Now I come back, and try to run set-up and get this screen:

When I looked into the Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs, I found Fruit Machine Emulator there. I tried to remove it and it said "Could not load initialization file". I gathered this is because I deleted the uninstall file a while ago along with everything else in the folder. So I google it to remove a key from the registry which has removed Fruit Machine Emulator from the Add/Remove Programs list. However, I still get the message in the above picture when trying to run the setup file. I believe I must track down all registry values/keys/strings in order to be able to run the setup file.

Thanks.

You could try using regedit.

Start>Run>Regedit>Edit>Find

Search the registry that way.

Or use this..http://www.4dev.com/regc/

As you manually deteted the folder the installer thinks you still have the emulators installed as entries are made to the registary as well as the file system.

To work around this press start and then run and type 'regedit'

Navigate to the key located in My ComputerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREfmeiw

right click on the fmeiw on the left hand pane and select delete. This will fool the installer that the emulaters have not been installed and allow you to continue.

Hope this helps.

I know some people have issues with Easy Cleaner but it does it for me every time. Install and click on the Registry button. It will give you a list of entries that aren't being used anymore.

Wouldn't it be easier to download the separate emulators BFM, JPeMu and MFME 9.4 / 10.1a? as I know some people don't like messing with their registry.

(Even though they have straight forward instructions and it's easy lol)

If your looking to uninstall programs and get rid of all the crap it leaves behind in the registry i would recommend..Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Uninstall, Remove Programs, Solve uninstall problems

Been using it now for about 6 months great wee free app.
