Hi there. ive played lots of the fruities on here and never actually thought about the process in making a machine.

how do you go about making a fruit machine layout that works. I wouldn't mind trying to make one if i knew how to. can some one explain the principles and maybe i could give it a go

A working knowledge of a paint package to prepare flyers and time.
The rest is as easy as you want to make it...doing a classic is more involved as you are working with a blank canvas but DX'ing a classic is easier because the lamps, reels, numbers etc have already been done. Pandys guide covers the basic's. Adding reflection lamps etc are eye candy.
Dave was working on a slightly improved Pooky thing, but i guess he never got round to finishing it.

If your good with mdf and a jigsaw, should be a piece of piss... make yourself a nice little Fruitie cabinet, a bit like some of the homegrown Mame units. But what machine would you put in it?? You could probably get all the bits from ebay or an old f***ed up case jobby cheap..

Or maybe turn it into a business:-
