FMEF is now very nearly playable.
Reels - Working
Lamps - Working
Coins - £1 works, I need to do some trial and error to find the right pulse gaps for the other coins
7 Segs - Working
Switches - Working
Alpha - Working
I can get to test mode on 95% of empire roms and complete the tests (not RS232 test or sound because they aren't emulated yet) I can coin up in door closed, the lamps fire up, but after it completes a spin it does nothing. The cpu is still running, if I tick the door it responds but after 1 spin I have to reset the machine to make the next spin. But I reckon within this week it should be playable. Its stopped asking for illegal opcodes now and its stopped writing to ram. It needs some decluttering and a bit of a speed boost but other than that....(been waiting for soooo long to say this)..

Well done Guitar.
Glad your patience has reaped its rewards.

Great stuff Guitar.
What can we emulate, may sound like a daft question, but how many machines that don't run in MFME can possibly be emulated?
Cheers, hats off to you.

At present moment 0. Over the coming weeks / months I'll be adding in the extra's like the extended lamp boards (which I need resources for please everybody), I need to have a look at the CHR for barcrest and see how thats working, which now I have done what I've done should be easy. When I tried to crack the CHR all those months ago I didn't have a clue what I was doing. Now I've written this, the CHR should be a matter of time. And the WHOLE reason I wrote this is because I want to play BWB Blues Boys and if I can crack that, I'm sure I can crack the other BWB's.
Eventually I plan on doing everything but resources aren't always available. Plus I'll be moving to C++ at some point becuase VB is an arse to get speed out of. I did this in VB partly to prove it can be done because some said it can't be done so I just had to prove them all wrong:D.
MPU4 was kind of a gateway emulator to train myself on something where resources are plentifull. This is the second program I have written since I left college, and the last was that dodgy PT sim so I needed something where I could get info easily (I.e. MFME debugger ). Now I have got where I am I can see how emulation works and start to see the concepts of what to do to
emulate something where you don't have the agemame memory map and mfme to copy from, which is essential to get anything cool running like Sys83 or Castle.
Magik over at the Mecca said he thought he could see what blues boys was doing in terms of the CHR so at some point when he's better I'm sure we can have a good chat and I can get BWB running, which then means it does something MFME doesn't and so it has a purpose.
But if anyone knows of something MFME doesn't do, tell me and I'll have a shot at it. Big Chief I want to do the LED matrix for, but I knwo nothing about the matrix itself. If anyone knows then that would be a big help. If not I'm guessing it will use a similar system to the extender boards which plug into the second aux port. So maybe I can find it by trial and error. Maybe not.

I think a lot of the Globals are MPU4...They had dodgey reels that went out of sync on MFME. Things like Just the Job, Thrills and Spills, and Body Match by MDM.
That's unless I'm completely wrong and all the globals were M1a lol
Still, if they are mpu4, and you are looking for unmade stuff, give em a go mate

lasso lamps would be cool in design tools, just draw round the lamp and hey presto, any shape you need.
Great news on the development and your continued sleepless nights donated in getting this off the ground.

Dimmed lamps.
Can be done with relative ease, although it will be up to the designer of the layout to get it looking right. I'll exlain that more in the documentation when the time comes.

Thanks for the replies Guitar, one more question
Lamping in MFME - Sometimes the shape (shape for lamps = square, cicrle, triangle) are not suitable if it's a tight board and things as joined together at nasty angles for lamping. Golden Mile (Ace) I did for example, there were parts that were very nasty, and could not help either squashing one lamp or overlaping it to the next square, which wasn't ideal - Does that make sense?
Would be great if you could actually draw round / lasso some on the ON image. Getting confused because you might have said this is possible already in a previous post if I remember - Just was curious?

Hmm, what about a lasso tool in the editor, not heard that before.
Seriously though, I thought about this before and in certain cases it would be fiddly as hell. Currently need to zoom in whatever graphics program you're using to accurately mask off some lamps. So a built in zoom feature in edit mode would be handy too.

Go on Guitar. You do it.
Christ I remember a year ago when I posted on Fruit f***wits that this man would be the next legend. Even then you could tell his heart was in it. Needless to say most of the resident pussies just laughed in my face. You go mate...If you ever need any funding just ask
Fruit-Emu rocks...and don't any of you forget it!!!

Hows about a magic wand type tool, draw roughly around the lamp and snap to best possible fit ??
