Hi,

Just joined the site today, i bought my first fruit machine today from ebay (my first mistake) when i went to look inspect it, i was showed the machine working in free play mode, however i can't get it to work in cash mode... i think it may be broken, i live in surrey and i want to get an engineer out to fix/inspect it for me, Does anyone on here know a reputable company that won't rip me off?

Thanks in adavance

Hi, what exactly is the problem, will the machine take money?.

the money just drops straight through back into the payout tray, also the display where it should say how much is in the bank and how many plays you have left is just blank although it is connected via wires etc.... i have no idea what i'm looking at either when i'm checking the wiring, i was hoping the seller described it accurately when he said its all in full working order and fully operational... but alas it would appear i was skanked... any idea how much a call out would cost from an engineer?

thanks for your reply.

Tim

Maybe i can help with the money problem, you need to remove the coin mech from inside the machine, turn machine off, now by the coin mech there should be a white clip, pull this back while lifting the mech upwards & the mech should come out sideways, then you need some polish & a cloth, spray some polish on the cloth, on the coin mech there is a flap that you can pull open, wipe inside here with the cloth with polish on.
Now replace the coin mech & see if the machine excepts coins.
Sometime dirt stops them taking money.

maybe needs new coin mech then, i cant help you but someone on here might sell you one.
I think an engineer would be about £20 call out, then £10 an hour plus the price for any parts needed (if any).

i've got someone coming to look at it tomorrow, fingers crossed they'll be able to get it sorted, £30 call out fee, one cheeky sod wanted a £95 call out fee just for coming to see it....

As far as i can see all leads are where they should be and all 5 little green lights on the power pack are lit... :bigeyes19: hopefully it is something as simple as that and i'll just look a little silly when the chap turns up to look at it tomorrow.....

ffs the engineer will be smiling while drinking in the pub tonight :)

20 bulbs £3 off ebay

refill key £2 off ebay

a secondhand display would be around a fiver assuming he's used a secondhand display which i bet he has.

i'd of fixed it and supplied the bulbs and refill key and replaced the display all for £20 including labour

lol, i did think i could get the parts cheap on ebay, but i have no idea what i'm looking at on these things or what would be worng with them, one chap tried to charge me £95 just for the call out so i thought i got a pretty good deal, i rang about 30 companies and only two said they'd come and check it out, all the others refused....

there are some good engineers who work for companies that would do a back hander repair. but its just finding them. as for the chap who wanted £95 just for call out he must of been on drugs lol.

aslong as your happy thats all that matters ;)

glad u got it sorted m8

... did they even do a £25 version of this machine? I honestly don't think it's 'recent' enough for that. Could be wrong though :)
