I have only lived here in Nottingham for a year and I have counted 4 arcades close down. However I think there were all Nobles.
The ones I pop into, have the same old faces, and the same old machines. I would love to visit an arcade, just like the seaside ones, but in the city. I'm gonna pop in just to play the Reno Casino. Plus I'd love to see a Partytime around here!

I have to say that if I was after an arcade (which i'm not), then the last pic, the one of the boy dossing on the chair, would put me right off. He's exactly the sort of customer I wouldn't want. Looks like he'd loiter around all day, spending no money, maybe spending the odd quid sharking people, and just pissing the proper customers off.

Cascade Arcade in Nottingham City Centre still have a lot of 5p £5 machines. It is looking in a bit of a state these days though and I think it might be on the verge of closing down
It's a shame really, I used to spend a lot of my younger days in that place!

Heard the Akins group are indeed ready to pull out, but then again their places have always been a shithole, especaly when they found the electrics in the old Carrington st shop (Near the station), ready to burn the place down lol. The one on Grandby Street In leicester has already been sold off a few years a go.
There is just their place just past Fletchergate car park, Nobles has the Old Lion Pub and one of Trinity Square, and that is about it, though JEM have just moved into Borardmarsh next to the bus station, and a group I have used for many years in Bulwell, and their two places in Long Eaton.

been in this arcade, its 10 mins from mansfield,i think you would be lucky if you covered your running cost's.there are never any punnter's in the place when i have gone past, and that's a lot of time's i have passed the place.also it's on the out skirts of sutton at least 15 - 20 mins walk from the main shop's.plus there where 3 big arcade's in sutton centre all owned by the same bloke he has now closed 2 and the other arcade wot he has left opened you would'nt stand a chance to compete with it.it's four time's bigger better and newer machine's,and plenty of regular customer's.

Intresting to know, location is everything in business.
Plus why sell if it is such a money maker? I know traveling cost must be high, but you could employe someone and cashing in as the owner. It could make enough for one person to run it and make a living.
All you seem to be getting for your £8k is a license. These licenses can't be that hard to get.
Filly up with machines and arranging the rent/bond/lease could add another £5k.
However if it is alway empty whats the point.

Hi
MAB = MAB systems what the MAB stands for I dont know but i think thay are based in Hull, I thought i had read somehere thay had closed down but this would not seem to be the case as the website at MAB Systems is still active.
I know a guy who left MAB and set up on his own. Located on Park Grove here in Hull. Theres also a computerised BINGO workshop behind his place also. Andy is the chaps name and we have him to thank for the dumping of the roms I was handed, of SupaTRACK'. And he also provided me with a token accepter and token tube for my Jackpot 7's to return it back to it's original £4.80 token version.
I know he doesn't browse the forums as he's a technical fella. Although he does have a copy of Trouty's FME disk from 2 years ago that I copied for him. He makes a living re-glassing/re-chipping older machines using kits ect... and the last time I was down his place, he was converting lots of Project games in those casino cabs, and those crappy Bell Fruit machines that the biddies play in Quicksilver arcades. The ones with the bells, bars and melons. He was also doing some 'Party Time' type games for a big arcade chain using the companies logo for the JP symbol. Most of the 'TEDDIES' branded machines that appeared in Withernsea 10 years or so ago were his work.
I've had 2 machines over the years from Hessle Automatics on Argyle Street here in Hull. One of the guys working there said he was a devs programmer for Project. When I bought my 'Pinball Wizard' about 5 years ago, they had a 777 Heaven that was made for some bloke in Belgium set at 4 games for 1 Euro with a 10 Euro jackpot. The first machine I bought from them was a Club Attraction by BFM. I really wanted a SP.Ace game but he wanted silly money for them stating that they were worth a fair penny to him even if they were not working due to the PSU's. They also had an original Indian Penny one armed bandit in there for punters to play on. They had loads for sale when the £25 JP had just come in. All taken from pubs ect... And all for reasonably low prices.
Here's a place that I have also visited. :- Leisurama Entertainments Limited
As you can see, no website and very little info. Even the building is bland and has little to draw peoples attention. I visited the place as Sally installed their security system. These guys do corporate branding of fruit machines. For example, if you have ever visted a Nobles, and see their 'Stars and Stripes' game with the 'Nobels' logo as symbols, or Nobles branded 'Party Times' ect..., this is where they are made. They take brand new machines, strip them out, replace reels, decals and even make top-boxes to fit the arcade if they are required to be fitted to non-standard walls ect...
Last but not least, theres also Coincheck in Beverley. Another site I've visited to work on their security system. Mainly bingo machines. If you've played bingo at the seaside where when you win, it pays out tokens for your wins/prizes, Coincheck made them. Their systems are placed up and down the Yorkshire coast. Teddies, as it once was, in Withernsea, has a 'Coincheck' bingo system. Pays out tokens where once, the bingo assistant would tear off a bingo win or half win from a printed book. All automated now of course. You don't even need to play the game. Stick in your 20p, and the automated system will call BINGO for you if you win. lol
God knows why I'm rambling on lol. We were only talking about MAB.

It's classed as a family entertainment centre - he can't have anything over £5 cash jackpot.
