Ok right I need to know more about your PC.

1) Make sure you have 100% up to date drivers.
2) Update your directx again just to be sure.
3) Download the zip again and do a fresh install (including layout).

Ok then...

1) What GFx card do you have?
2) Processor speed?
3) When are you getting the error? On start-up or on loading the layout?

This goes for everyone still having troubles and using XP. Lets see if we can find a common source for the problems.

Hi n thanks for the peedy reply. I have updated my laptop 4 days ago as its brand new and just downloaded all the latest updates from windows.

I have downloaded the zip file again, twice and installed.
Tried to update direct x but said there was no new updates.
I have put a system information file with this post and i hope that has all the information you need to help resolve this problem. Had to zip it up as it was too big to add as a txt file.

I have vista too not xp

Many thanks,
James

Have you done the Vista Update? If not look in the release thread over at FF and follow the instructions by Pembo.

EVEYONE using Vista needs this fix first.

Ok i have gotten a little bit further now. I can now get it to load but when i click on load game then the PBN game file I get this message......

component richt32.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

I am so close to playing this i can smell the reels going round lol.

Hmm, I believe that happens if you try and access a floppy drive. Make sure the drive letter you click is a valid drive. If you click in a removeable media drive with no media in it, it will fail. I need to check that in future issues.

Sounds like the richtext activex control isn't registered on your machine. You'll probably need to do the same as the other DLLs.

Copy the richt32.ocx into
c:windowssystem32

Go to the start menu, type command, find the command prompt icon, right click and choose, run as administrator.

Then type
Code:

regsvr32 c:windowssystem32richt32.ocx

It'll probably then work.

I guess this might have been included in one of the vista updates you've not done yet - if its new it takes ages for the updates to actually ripple through to the point where you can install service pack 1 and beyond.

I am running on XP home and service pack 3 and I am also getting the error 91 on startup I have also done all of the sugggestions here with no success.

However I have added the emu to the Repro in the guest area so its avilible to all and you will find it in the folder Gutars New Emu.

I'm a little bit stumped on that one to be honest. It was designed on XP sp3 so should be fine. I'll do some digging. I have 3 PC's in the house and it works on all of them (XP sp3) so that was the breadth of the testing I could do.

I know, good innit. How gutted would you be if you found it was a PBN sim.

Seems its a problem with different XP's...Mines XP Pro Performance Edition sp3 and works great

I'll try with normal XP pro tonight after work

Those of you using Windows XP and getting the Error 91 message. Please try using this config file. Simply overwrite the other one and start the game. Ensure game is not started when overwriting.
