Hello,
In the previous thread I had decided that it was probably the MPU that had failed. It turns out that I was right, however I'm still not quite out of the woods yet :-(
It now self tests (with no faults), moves the reels, and gets itself ready to go. I insert coins and the credits appear in the display, the start button flashes, I press it - absolutely nothing!!!
I have looked at the DIP switches, I think I have them correct, although I am getting no sound (the alarms work) but there is no other sound?
Any thoughts. Can somebody supply the DIP switch settings, so I can be sure I have them correct.
Thanks for your help so far.
Cheers
Peter

Have you connected the start button correctly?

the volume is most probably off but the alarms have to sound otherwise there would be no point btw have you checked all the connections to the motherboard and that the button is workingHello,

From inside the machine gently pull on the microswitch on the back of the button if the back comes out push it back in until it clicks, if it doesnt come off then that is not the fault with the button.

Hello,
Many thanks for the manual. It's not the button, I've swapped it with the one next to it.
Does it need "pay out" money in any particular places to pay out before it will operate?
Cheers

Shouldnt do, well stick a quid in the hopper(and 20p in the 20p hopper) if you think this would be the case. Normally it would flash up if its empty, though only if its got money it still has to pay.

One of my favourite mistakes to make personally is to leave one of the connectors off the mpu when I put it back in...
Obvious but maybe worth double checking.

put the machine into switch test and then see if it works then as sometimes the switch will work if you just press the micro-switch but when it is connected to the button it wont as it is not connecting to the button correctly

A broken wire. Sorted!! Also, thanks to the manual I have been able to adjust the volume :-)
All I need is a few bulbs to replace the dud ones and its complete.
Thanks for all your help, I couldn't have done it without you!
