Right, now my machine looks quite nice and most of the problems have been resolved thanks to the helpful guys on here, however Ive now come across another problem!.........

When I switch the machine on, it loads up ok and goes into demo mode ok. However, sometimes when you insert a coin it plays ok for a few games, the after a while it will accept a coin, but give no plays, then reject all following coins.

Other times, from when it loads up it accepts the first coin (but gives no credits), and rejects all following coins.

The only solution seems to be to switch it off then on again, then when it reloads it might play a few games until this occurs again..........

Apart from checking all connections etc, can anyone point me in the right direction as Its driving me mad!

Many thanks,

Mark

Hi lincs,

Sorry if that is not proper forum etiquette - all of the points I raised on the earlier thread had been answered, so I thought it would be clearer to ask the new quetsion on a new thread. Can anyone move this to my earlier thread? Or, should I re-ask on my previous thread?

Im really grateful for the support I have been given, so apologies if I have done something wrong :)

Cheers,

Mark

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say thanks to all those who have posted about the JPM gamebox,. I bought a broken one on ebay last week and tonight I got it working thanks mostly to this site.

There are a few little isses with it and I was wondering if anyone can help?

1. Does anyone whow where to get the manual?

2. The top right of the screen (near the coin mech) is sometimes discoloured. Its not really noticeable in the games nut on a green screen, the top 5 inches or so of the corner is blue and on a blue screen the same area is red. I guess it needs degauzing but I cant find a degauze button!

3. The screen itself sits a bit low - so when the top flap is shut you can see the top of the screen and all the touch screen wiring. How can I adjust the position oft he monitor in the case?

4. How can I add more games to it?

My system has - at best - a dubious set up. There is a black dongle in the parallel port but it looks like there is a round bit missing from it. The disk in the drive is a CDR disk marked "backup" so it looks like the original games disk is long gone.

5. Lastly, while I have all the keys I seem to need to open it up completely, there is a key hole on the front of the machine just below and to the left of the monitor - and I dont have a key for it. Can anyone tell me what its for and does it matter that I dont have a key?

Thanks again

Anthony

Re point 2.Is machine sited near any loudspeakers?
Re. point 5. It is a refill keyswitch. It does not matter if you don't have the key for it but if you want one, they are about a fiver depending on where bought. PM me if you need one & I will try to source one for you.

Hi, thanks.

No external speakers but there is an internal one there abouts.

Yes please for the key - if you can get one that would be great.

Not sure how to PM you - can you email me on digby@yipes.co.uk please?

Thanks

Is there anywhere to get the games CDs to load more games onto the machine.

There is a fellow that can sell a hard drive kit on ebay but I dont really need a new hard drive and the machine was so cheep it seems an awful lot of money. I just need the disks really.

Regarding pont 3 in the list above - I had another look at it today - it seems that yu cant adjust the height of the image. It looks as if the monitor has been installed upside down (the writing on the monitor (where the touch screen bits are) is upside down and the mounting holes look like they are off set in the opposite direction.

is it hard or dangerous to turn the monitor around so it fits in the case nicely - and having done that - how to I invert the image (iti is correct at present).

Thanks

Anthony

Hi Anthony, I find on mine that the discolouring goes after a while it is because of the internal speakers.

As with adding games.. you will need a multi-game disc with the correct security dongle to install to the hard drive and play.

OR

You could go down the 'unofficial' route and have loads of games, no security device needed, BUT you'll loose the need for a coin mech. (Unless someone knows of a work around... anyone??)

Mine had three games on it but a faulty dongle. I bought Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and dongle from Ebay and quickly got bored of one game.

Here is mine now..

Good luck what ever you decide to do and you've come to right place for advise!!

Darren
