I just started the ball rolling to change my ISP to Tiscali, the whole process is supposed to take 14 days max (we'll see).

I can send e mails using the Tiscali secure online service but for some reason I can't send them using Outlook Express. Is this due to the fact that the migration has not ben completed or is it something that I have done wrong?

This is the message that appears when I try to send an e mail:-

Task 'pop.tiscali.co.uk - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC6F) : 'Your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: 554 Sorry, your non-local IP address is not allowed to send email via me.'

Any help and info would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

POP / SMTP services are probs not activated yet, also noting the error you have.

For now, i'd stick to their webmail service as you have been dooing.

Thanks for the reply mate.

I think it's the smtp server that won't be activated then as the pop3 allows my messages to download using Outlook Express.

Thanks again.

If you're not quite on their service, then you can't relay messages via their smtp server. This is standard for ISPs. However, your old ISP's SMTP server should be able to send mails out correctly so if you change your outgoing server to that then change back to the Tiscali one once you have fully migrated then you should be fine.
