We all have our opinions on section 16's/B3's and I have bought this for entertainment purposes and was wondering that people thought of its entertainment value, I paid £343 for it and am waiting for its arrival, from youtube videos it seems its only "bonus" is when you get 3 people appear and you have to choose one and an amount of money is revealed, is this the only bonus?

Also it does not take the new £20 note, can its note acceptor be taught the new £20 note?

Since it has not been updated to the new £20 I'm guessing it has not been chipped and was wondering if this means its likely to still be vulnerable to emptier's? Also how does one go about chipping a machine to update it, do you buy a chip and replace the current one? download some firmware or something?

Oh and lastly, is it possible to change the software on it to that of another Astra machine so it runs like the other machine (I know I would need a dongle).

Thank you!

Firstly is it a S16 or a B3?

Updating a b3 is done by a flash stick(sometimes needs a small board change too(cant think of its name at the mo))
best thing you can do is phone astra/supplier with your machines spec's

Be aware that astra and barcrest have several frauds that they are not keen to admit to!

Rechips are generally only available from the manufacturer or distributor. They would either be sent as new eproms to replace the ones in the machine, or as a file that would then have to be burnt onto a new eprom by someone with a programmer.

(Edit: Or on a memory card or similar as stated above, yes.)

Some acceptors have a teach mode for new notes.

Hello,

I understand section 16's are considered by many to be more fun over b3's as b3's are often boring and flat?

Does this ring true?

Yes S16's do give a better gameplay BUT as they are now iligal i doubt you will find any updates apart from a B3 kit which is a grand or higher last time i looked

they are only illegal in arcades, home use is fine. Off the top of my head i believe you pressed collect on the buttons but press start on the screen and it gave you free credits (dont quote me on that)

i updated the slotto i had from 1.01 to a 1.04 via inserting a usb dongle, and the update was done in seconds. i have a copy of the usb key in question but would be fearfull you would also need to upgrade the chips oboard also.

As for game play, playing a £1 £500 machine would be like playing slotto on £2 £1000 jp.

Thanks Nails,

How do you rate Slotto in terms of entertainment value in comparison to other machines of the same nature?

Thanks.

I'm sure when you play this machine you wont find any entertainment value.
It's just a boring machine full stop. Well thats my opinion anyways.
