Have to say, before I was out of control, where I COULD walk with a tenner profit....albeit last summer as a metter of fact! I was a happy gambler...I would play whatever machines I might have liked to, then when I had got a board or so off them, then if I was in profit I would round the cash up/down, say I had £12 I would round down to 10 or up to 15 then walk with my winnings.(

This is where my problem lied...

I was never happy at spending an hour playing machines and only making a tenner, although at the time when minimum wage was around £3 that was great, but it was just never enough, I'd need to be £40 or £50 up to be worth while.

The problem I used to have was going back the next day, after playing them til the place closed at 11, then going back at 5pm to see if I could win, (like many played between 11am and 5 lol.

Anyway, I was always a happy gambler until the machines turned on me

I saw it. I got a bit confused by the end bit. Basically he was stitched up by the underground gambling den, consisting of his 'mate' who does the TV repairs, the Irish stooge and the big bastard.
Live feed, delay feed, what what? Poetic licence to the extreme. How far fetched? All contrived to scam one poor man?

they werent scamming one person they were scamming who ever was in that illegal gambling den.

its not far fetched at all, take a look on the net on google on the north East news. 2 chineese students were murdered in Newcastle for doing this, they did it by betting on the 'delay' thing mostly on football scores.

its acytually quite scarey, i never knew of this sort of stuff happening, but thinking about it i bet its more commen than you think

you will notice how delay action works by watching sky tv. put ITV on by using the sky remote. then turn the channel over to terrestrial tv and itv is different by 5-ish seconds.

Imagine if you live in Japan for instance and you are watching horse racing from Britian, the races are proberly 20 or 30 seconds delayed and if you are in an illegal gambling hut they will not tell you this, it works both ways though.

So lets get back to the gambling on footy matches that are 'bet in running' you might know that a footy team in the UK has just scored and you could in theory put a bet on that team say 20 seconds after they have scored and obviously 20 or 30 seconds later they score on the Tv in Japan.

This scam has been runnig for lots and lots of years.

i remember back in the US in the 20's someone was betting on the horses that had already won but 'not' in the US as the race hadn't run through the delay action. It was a big scandle when it came to light.

Still happens now and its nothing new unless you did not know about delay action!!

That is a VERY interesting read mate...I myself have always wanted to go into the gambling industry, specifically designing machines...I have plenty of ideas that I can put forward...But it might be some work, so say I have a design who should I send it to when it comes to manufacturers?
Seeing as you have your own business, would it be poss to send some ideas to you sometime?

The owner of an arcade i used to work in came up with the idea for "Beau peep" the cartoon out of the daily star, put his idea to ACE machines & they made it & a short while later made their own version aswell, he got 10% of the sales made

Gambling had a big affect on my life due to my Grandad and Dad where gamblers now don't get me wrong it was never down to them that i did it but maybe it was in my genes with them being gamblers:bigeyes26:
I have lost a hell of a lot over the years due to it if i worked it out it would blleding kill me.You name it i would gamble on it just wanted the buzz.Till i woke up to the fact you will never win in the long run.You walk into a bookies you have a fantastic day but for that 1 fantastic you will have over 50 very poor days and that became my way of thinking.
I will go in with a tenner put my footie acc on then put the rest in the roulette after that is gone then it's offkis.

On the whole i think NOW i am happy gambler because i use the tenner i have for fun if i win great if i lose so what it's only a tenner compared to the hundreds i use to blow in at the weekends.
